telltale's formula definitely wasn't perfect, but it was certainly a hell of a starting point. series like life is strange are taking the telltale formula and experimenting with it to try and make something better, and i think that's great. i'm sure the story game wave has been long dead at this point, but whenever it resurfaces i bet whatever devs come up with is gonna get people talking again. cus there is absolutely a place for that kind of game, it just has to be taken a lot further than where telltale and dontnod have left us

You slime, I despise you. How dare you insult my presence with this filth. forget you! forget you! forget you! Go learn your place in this world, and perhaps then your puny mind shall reveal unto you the good God-granted grace of grape. I'll be waiting.

its not as simple as that since the games they worked on were very primarily story based with very little gameplay. if they dont have experience at other studios, they wouldn't have the background needed to join in-progress projects as a coder most likely. maybe as a writer or cutscene editor/creator, but i can't imagine anything else. unfortunately most studios dont prioritize writing, and the cutscenes in TTG were pretty eh tier for the modern era.
i mean, it's still games programming. there are still people that had to write that engine (or whatever they put on top of it) and people who had to write all the tools on the pipeline to make all the superficial stuff easy for art and design teams to work with. the gameplay being simple doesn't mean there aren't mountains of code in the background or in the back room supporting the game or the devs' workflow. the fact that they were able to make these games so quickly is probably a testament to how good their dev tools were. i'd love to see some info from the tech artists at telltale, i bet they did some awesome work there

actually nah i was gonna be dismissive but im gonna make a real post now. here's a brain teaser: imagine a world in which kavakljhklh doesn't get appointed as a result of these allegations. the supreme court is still short a seat. the same president is gonna pick a different guy. the next pick is going to have all, or at least many, of the same qualities as kav because that's why kav was selected in the first place. there will be another right wing dude on the supreme court either way, and everyone knows it.
well there's a chance the dems can take the senate after midterms, in which case they can exert a significantly higher amount of pressure for Annoying Orange to put up a less partisan nominee. ofc if he doesn't, it's also possible for there to be a vacancy up through at least 2020

reproductive drawbacks don't seem to fully explain the problem, though. if that were the only issue, then why would there be legal/social reprimands for relationships with legal relatives acquired via marriage, ie in-laws and step-family? there has to be more to the stigma than biological factors, right?

yeah reading up it seems like there's no hard dates set right now other than the one-week limit on the FBI's initial probe, which is good to know. i think it'd be a really poor idea for the senate to hastily move to confirm him with something like this hanging in the air so close to midterms

so does anyone know if the FBI thing would continue on if they find a lead on something, or is it just a one-and-done kinda thing? less than a week with limited scope going directly into a vote seems a little restrictive for such a high-profile situation

[note: i'm keeping things generic cus the OP talks about related topics other than just gender identity so i figure it'd be appropriate if i do the same. also, i can't adequately state these things because it's not something i have a lot of experience with, so i won't speak over others who do, but from listening this is what i hear]
a good thing to note is that dysphoria isn't the only angle here, euphoria is also an incredibly important component. feeling more comfortable looking one way or presenting one way doesn't mean you necessarily have to hate the alternative, and hating the alternative isn't necessarily the only motivator to changing your presentation. this is also why you don't have to necessarily be dysphoric to be trans; if you just really like presenting differently, that's totally valid.

with that in mind, it makes perfect sense that people would feel better. why accept things the way they are when something so much more comfortable and enjoyable is within your grasp?
