Or how about this much simpler idea: Every state waits until all the votes are done being counted. All the states pledge to cast all their electoral votes for whoever won the popular vote.
yeah, this is a plan that some states are already talking about, but it'll be a hard press to get it to happen.

why bother fixing the electoral college when you can just remove it altogether? Like what's the point of even having it around at this time? Sure you can say that some voters aren't educated but who's place is it to say who is an educated voter and who isn't?
it more safely ensures representation on more local levels by allowing less densely populated areas have a disproportionately higher effect on the outcome of an election. this is a mixed bag of good and bad.

a big problem right now is that states other than nebraska and maine don't distribute their electors according to how well each candidate does; the candidate that wins a plurality in that state will receive every single electoral vote that state has. if states didn't do this and instead gave out their votes in a sane way, the electoral college would definitely be more representative, though obviously still fallible. of course, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, because the majority is also fallible, and our complex government system is inefficient by design to help stop demagogues from sweeping the vote and yelling their way into office. of course, since states use popular votes, this is still a problem regardless lol

anyone that proposes a constitutional amendment in congress is either having a laugh or out of their forgetin mind. unless there's a national outcry, there's no way you're getting 2/3 of both houses and 3/4 of states to agree on anything right now

now i guess it is worth mentioning that people can be punished for these things in civil court without it necessarily being a criminal offense. people can sue others for emotional damages, parents can sue people if their child commits Self Delete, etc. things that are already criminal in communication (like harassment and threats) will remain criminal even over the internet just as they would over the phone or in person.

Hey guys, remember when drawing was not about pleasing people's roosters and made for decoration and beauty?
yo, art doesn't have any rules my dude, you may not be as into some subject matters and that's fine; it doesn't have to make anyone else's work less valid

harassment is already a criminal offense, but offhanded aggression obviously isn't and shouldn't be. if you're doing anything with intention of harm, however, that would probably be criminal as well.

You're still at fault for not reprimanding people on your side for holding up these signs. It doesn't matter how confrontational you are; that sign is defining your group and if you don't do something about it (confront, leave, etc.), you are accepting that the sign is indicative of what you believe.
broad ideological groups don't constitute a community; the idea that everyone under an arbitrary ideas umbrella accepts the burden of all the stuff piles underneath it is absolutely absurd in every case. people are responsible for their own actions. as far as i can tell, the only point in thinking this way is to extrapolate the unpleasantness onto everyone under this arbitrary group for fallacious argumentative credit.

Meanwhile, there were no election riots, even protests, both times Obama was elected. You know what they DID do? They strengthened their platform and won the midterm elections.
this is definitely false, but regardless this election is an interesting case. both candidates (especially Annoying Orange) are highly unfavorable, to an extent that i imagine may even be unprecedented for serious presidential candidates.

naturally, people are going to protest more over candidates they feel more strongly against. and as it turns out, a pretty large number of people feel strongly against Annoying Orange.

if we get any kind of electoral reform out of this election, i'll be more satisfied than i could ever be with either president. i seriously doubt that happening, but the fact that this has happened four times now is pretty forgetin silly

and i suppose Annoying Orange might be a good person to advocate for that now that i think about it considering how strongly he's expressed the opinion that the electoral system is bunk

Everyone who has a different opinion is dumb now
Yes.
