feelin p good, just played openttd for a few hours, probably one of the chillest games on Earth

game's goin p slow cus it started in 1950, still waiting for electric railways to come into play, but it's 1965 and i just learned that electric railways actually happen to come in five years earlier than 1970 :^)

that's a pretty good question, and makes it sound a lot like there was some kind of change in the middle of development, in which case those would just be a relic of old versions that they forgot to or decided not to remove. i haven't gotten too far into ds3, but if those items serve a purpose in world building or lore then i guess it'd make sense that they wouldn't remove them

what kinds of things are we actually talkin about with "mentally ill?" cus most of the time mental illness isn't going to be something life-breaking like severe autism

like i wouldn't stop people with mood disorders from having kids if they wanted them. the genetics of mental illnesses is usually pretty weird and unclear as well, the brain always makes things more complicated than they need to be, you're not guaranteed to pass it along to your children

i wasn't saying "god could've/did do it cus science can't explain it," i was more so saying "at this point it's just as good an explanation as any other," which in turn is just a fancy way of saying "who forgetin knows dude lol"

my explanation was also pretty oversimplified because i didn't figure it was necessary to get the main point of "actually the big bang doesn't quite try to explain that" across

I've not a clue what or who created this universe because I both don't believe in a deity neither do I believe in the Big Bang, which to me seems like a gigantic anomaly in science because it's the creation of matter/particles which cannot be done. Neither can matter be destroyed. I'm sure there are strange theories saying the universe is this or that, but I really can't believe stuff.

I did at one point have this little theory that the universe can both be existent and non-existent at the same time, like "Schrodinger's universe". Maybe it's like an electron in a shell.

There are also theories it's in a black hole and all that.

actually the big bang theory doesn't really explain how matter came to exist, it's just an explanation of how incredibly dense space began to expand outward and become the universe we actually observe now. we don't really know where matter and energy came from, and we don't claim to know. so as far as i'm concerned, god is just as good an explanation for that as any other

i guess at this point, making poise do something would actually have a pretty major effect on the game's balance, esp. if it were balanced without it. it'd probably be a lot more work than just making it do something, they would have to go through and make sure that decision actually makes the game better instead of worse

so the PR story of "oh it's supposed to be like that" might not be so strange. we don't know if that was the intention from the start, but at this point in development, it would probably be a lot more work than it sounds like
