this is probably old news, but i find it really hard to believe path would randomly invoke an executive order from four years ago and expect it to matter. it seemed much more like just a jab at tony's hostile history than anything else

i do think that the bake sale gag might have been inappropriate given the context and environment, would have been better to just not

so here's an interesting development, using the 368.39 driver on my AMD/GTX 960 setup I was able to play BF4 (the game that crashes my drivers the fastest on my 1070) for about 2 hours or so, when on my 1070 build it crashes almost immediately. hmmm

all I can say is there's something going on with Intel/GTX builds and this driver, because the only cases of this I've seen have been Intel/GTX and not AMD/GTX.

my new build is intel/gtx with a 1070 so i'll tell you how it turns out for me (unless the problem is fixed by the time i can test enough)

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Default Hitscan
« on: June 18, 2016, 12:58:31 AM »
What are the weapon packs that uses hitscan? I honestly wanted to make a weapon pack someday and I wanted to try the hitscan method out, I hate how we can avoid raycast projectiles by walking sideways.
raycast weapons seem to be exactly what OP is describing, they hit as instantly as the server can receive your input and fire the gun if there isn't any additional code involved

blockland, however, will not support client-sided hit detection like some games do. at least, you wouldn't want it to if you could figure it out

in the US, you should only be taxed for online orders if the order can be physically within your state. otherwise it would be illegal. that's why i get $0.00 tax from most online stores (only one i've found is apple stuff iirc) cus nobody wants to set up shop in alabama :'^] (not sure if there's some weirdness for one or two states, but that should be the case)

so i ordered around $1500 of parts, including a 1070 from evga, and didn't pay tax on any of it wew. not sure what would've happened if i got a card from nvidia, because i know there's a mysterious office with the nvidia logo pretty nearby where i live

if by "sjw" you generally mean "obnoxious starfish" then the best thing to do is just avoid contact with them because you don't have to subject yourself to that stress. don't engage people like that and ideally you shouldn't have problems

« on: June 17, 2016, 01:59:10 PM »
you can definitely be denied employment. lots of places dont allow tattoos/piercings/colored hair of any kind. for instance, in law enforcement some departments dont allow any visible/offensive tattoos.
There's probably some protection for tattooed people looking for employment in various places, but it can be difficult to enforce those employment laws.

Employers can't ask questions about things they may have a prejudice against (are you gay, are you originally from the UK, what religion are you), but if a tattoo is visible then an employer can judge them on that without ever mentioning it. So they can deny the person because of tattoos, claiming any other normal reason, and the applicant would never be able to prove he was denied because of his tattoos.

And then as RedGajin said, there are places who will outright refuse to employ a person with tattoos, or if they can't cover them up (such as a face/neck tattoo).
yeah, if you have a tattoo on your face or neck or hands or something, you're probably going to have trouble. if it's on a place like your chest i think you would be fine since you can have it covered

would definitely be symbolic speech. the tattoo place could probably deny service, but you would be protected once you had it. i don't think you could even be legally denied employment/fired or anything like that if you wanted to take it to court, but i duno. unless the company has a strict "no-tattoo" policy and that's been determined legal already

at the most you'd probably be asked to cover it up
