Add-Ons / Terrain Build Rules (64x grid and baseplate enforcement)

This add-on enforces the following rules:

• Only 64x baseplates may be planted directly on the ground
• New baseplates must be aligned with the existing baseplates

The result is that community builds are more organized and contiguous than they would be otherwise.

General Discussion / "Idle Player Kick" Problem

Whichever one of you dumbasses made this needs to fix it right now.  It kicks you when you're walking around, when you're connecting, when you're the only one in the server - completely without rhyme or reason.

Actually if anyone can give me a link to whatever add-on does this I'm just going to remote fail it.

General Discussion / "Press to crouch" problem?

Has anyone ever had the "Press  to crouch" problem in the tutorial?  I know it happens but I cannot fathom how to duplicate it. 

The problem is that they just don't have a key bound to crouch, but with the default controls pop-up I don't see how that's possible.  If you have any insight into this please post it.

Drama / Roblox Raiders

Attached is an image from the forum ban list of all Roblox raiders.  In addition to this, I have blocked one hundred users on youtube.  I don't know how many "Blockland Raiders" have been banned from Roblox but I'll bet it's less than this.  It's probably just going to get worse now that the Roblox developers are actively encouraging their users to forum spam.

An actual Email I just received.

Subject: How do you get banned from forums

My son has been banned from the Blockland forums for being "Flaming + too young/stupid for forums."  I would like an explanation as to what this even means.  Since he's banned, I'm not able to even see what he's posted.

The reason you can't see his posts is because they have been removed.  Since you asked nicely, I dug through the trash and compiled a list of your son's "greatest hits" (see attached image).

The forum, while open to the public, is not a digital asylum for feral children.  It is expected that you already have basic communication and social skills when you arrive.  The posts shown here display a deficit in both of these categories.

Anyone who posts "who cares" or "no one cares" or similar dismissive statements will be banned.

Examples of common dismissive posts:

"The host can do whatever they want, it's their server"

• Might does not make right.  Just because we can't physically stop people from being jerks on their own computers doesn't make it ok.  We are attempting to stop them via social pressure, that is the point of this forum.

"If you don't like the server, just leave"

• Yeah, no stuff.  No one is posting "help I'm trapped in this bad server and can't leave".  The point is to warn others and bring about social consequences for the offending party.

"Why are you so mad, it's just a game/go outside/get a girlfriend/there are starving kids in africa"

• The existence of more important things does not reduce every lesser thing to zero.  Hope you don't get mad when you get banned because hey, it's just a forum.

"Your first mistake was joining a <whatever> server"

• Unless you're about to go into a technical explanation about why the design of a particular game mode causes people to act like jerks, stow it.  Your opinion that "everyone who likes <whatever> is an autist" is just useless bigotry.

"The drama forum should be removed"

• The drama forum is a reflection of the ills of society.  Removing the forum would only blind us to those ills, leaving no hope of addressing them.

Originally banned for massive drama whoring and rule #5 violation, IcyGamma has been bawing into my inbox for weeks now.  He managed to sign up under a new account, send me a private message and make post.

Please, for goodness sake, fix my IcyGamma account or at least remove it so I can re-register it. I just want to post my gallery work and fix up my clan topic.
I'm not a douche bag 8 year old, I'm tired of internet drama, and just want to post events and help others with events...and maybe a few addons or so.

This is IcyGamma here. I managed to gain access to the forum by registering with a different user name. Firstly, I want to state this loud and clear. There will be no alliance between MicroBlock and Blockintosh anymore. I also wish to inform you that I have removed all videos created by MicroBlock for Blockintosh. Why? Throughout my ban I noticed no MicroBlock / Blockintosh split servers yet you were still happy to host split with the other clans. I remember there being a Blocknux / Blockintosh / MicroBlock server one day, why did it no happen then? Also, since the ban I have had total rudeness from almost every Blockintosh user I came past excluding those also in MicroBlock.
I have had no contact at all from you apart from the rare IRC we had many days ago, despite still being active on the RTB forums and MicroBlock forums. I am tired of slandering my name with adverts and getting little back.

Kompressor has been laboring on this in secret, and now it's all pretty much "working".  There is still testing to be done and bugs to be fixed.

There are also some caveats which he illuminated later in this thread (cutpasted here for convenience):

Physics are automatically disabled if they make the game run too slow. You can also toggle them off if you don't want them. You can also set how many physical bricks at a time you want (so that you don't overwhelm your computer).

Whenever a brick is fake-killed (for instance, when you shoot it with a rocket and it flies away or if you fire a fakekill event), it now uses real physics instead of falling through the world. The normal rules apply for determining when something can be fake-killed (ie do you trust the guy shooting).

Brick physics are only simulated client side, so you can't stand on physical bricks (although they are shoved around by players/vehicles and if one falls on your head it would bounce off). This also means that the server doesn't know anything about the brick physics, so you can't go totally rube goldberg and have, say, a falling brick trigger a switch or something. You can build neat stuff like the catapult, though.
