no honorable mention for ouya?

I don't even understand what the complaint about the ouya is.  It was advertised as a cheap box to let you play crappy android games on your tv, then when it came out it was a cheap box that lets you play crappy android games on your tv.  I guess I'm missing where the 'lord and saviour of console gaming' vibe came from.

only u and i, for some reason

In the 90s, 'e' was also acceptable. Like the popular San Francisco auction site, Electronic Bay.

Badspot, your idea is nice and all... But what about portability?

This is a great point, which is why I'm excited to announce SolPoint Socialâ„¢ as a stretch goal.  This tiny verison of our device provides the same great experience of SolPointâ„¢, but in a fun on-the-go package.  Share your stored solar energy directly from one phone to another using our proprietary beam technology and companion social networking app.  Instead of sending your friends a "like", why not send them renewable energy?

If we're going to dip into personal gofundme type stunts, it's basically going to be all of them.

You're not just charging your phone, you're saving the planet.  Download our app and every time you look at the sun, we'll donate to a solar water women's charity.

badspot should make the greatest and fakest and overhyped product on kickstarter, ever.

Ok, so it's a solar powered battery bank that attaches to - or even replaces - a traditional window.  You might think a solar panel would block your view, but this one is transparent (these already 'exist' in the lab).  Then it transmits that stored energy to your phone and other mobile devices using a pan/tilt laser emitter.  It tracks a small collector that attaches to the back of your phone - or maybe the pro model just fires it directly into the usb charging port.

The pitch would be something like "solar panels are changing the world, but how do you get that power into your phone, where you need it? Introducing <this bullstuff>"

Maybe we wouldn't call it a "laser", we'd just say it "wirelessly transmits energy in a concentrated beam directly to your mobile device".  This would add an extra barrier to all the debunking videos because they'd have to speculate on what this "beam" is.  If they assumed it was a laser, the true believers would just be like "it's not a laser it's a concentrated beam!!".

Anyway, now we need a stupid name. Some ideas/name generator results:
VantagePoint
iBeamzo
SolPoint
Dynavu
Eiveo

You're telling the joke wrong.  You have to set up the question so if someone says "no", you can immediately say "wanna do X?".  Like this:

1: If you went camping and woke up covered in jizz would you tell anyone?
2: No
1: Wanna go camping?

With your setup you'd have to say "wanna get tied to a stump?", which admittedly is pretty funny but only because of the anti-joke properties of it.

Also edit the title before I ban you for rule #1

Here's the same effect at a smaller scale:

The actual reason the pictures look different is because they're taken at different altitudes with different wide angle lenses.  The ISS for example is actually really close to the earth, so to get the entire globe in view you have use a fisheye lens, which leads to a distorted picture like the "2012" image in OP.

I believe this is covered somewhere in this vsauce video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxhxL1LzKww

https://badspot.us/Crowd-Funding-Fraud-Leaderboard.html

I have compiled a list of the top crowd funding scams.  I've probably missed quite a few because I made the list a while ago and stopped keeping up with these things.  There's a new one practically every day and it's depressing.

Also this is for blatant fraud only, it doesn't include general incompetence like Coolest, or stufffest creative projects like Mighty No.9, or crazies like that guy who raised 50k for books but had a mental breakdown and burned them.

so i guess you got bullied for having braces? or am i just reading this wrong?

There is no secret subtext here.  I say what I mean.  It is torture for money.  I am 90% sure my orthodontist was a literal sadist.  Your teeth move back as soon as you stop wearing your retainer.  There's no loving point to any of it unless your face is massively forgeted up or you're so vain about having ultra straight teeth that you'll keep a piece of plastic in your mouth every night for the next 10 years.

Also I don't know what broke ass school you went to but at mine you wouldn't be able to bully people for having braces because like 30% of the students had them at one point or another.

Expect years of pain for little to no benefit.  Also your lips will be permanently stretched out.  Unless you have an actual functional problem or you look like loving smeagol when you smile, don't do it.  If I butterfly-effected my self back in time, I would oppose the braces decision to the point of physically fighting my own mother if it were necessary.

Orthodontists prey on the vanity of parents to torture their children for money.  It is not possible to be an suburban orthodontist and be a good person - they are mutually exclusive conditions.
