I don't like to include extraneous information in links.  Anyway it is a url parsing error in internet explorer.  I have edited my post to work around this issue.

The labor and lives of countless billions of souls have culminated in the device that sits before you.  It effortlessly connects you to the sum total of all human knowledge.  If you merely ask, it can lay upon you a terrifying access to knowledge heretofore reserved only for the gods of myth.  And yet you do not ask.  Such is the defiance of man.

But I have not given up.  Like Prometheus before me, I see the potential under your oily wretchedness.  As he brought man fire to illuminate the world, so I bring you knowledge to illuminate the mind.

This thread could easily be titled "Why did 3 friends take so long to leave"

To make a nice icon for your program on the mac, you just generate a .icns file with icon composer and put that in your xcode project.

To use the large icon features of vista/win7 you have to jump through a dozen hoops in visual studio.  I couldn't be bothered.

General Discussion / Re: v19

I changed my BL folder, addons folder, cache folder, base folder, and Config folder making Everything (Guess, admin, and me) Read & Write. This computer is new, %100 mine only, and I have never installed any security software.
If all of that were true it would work.

What's the thing about running it from the mounted image?
The "do not run the game directly from the mounted image" message is displayed on the mac when the game cannot write to disk.  This is because the most common error on the mac is people running the game directly from the read-only .dmg file instead of copying it to their Applications folder like they're supposed to.

The error message is telling you that Blockland cannot write to disk.  Blockland needs to be able to write to the folder it is installed in.  The folder may be read only.  Your user permissions may be set to not allow you to write to the disk or to the folder that Blockland is installed in.  You may have some "security" software installed that is preventing the game from writing to disk.

A normal computer under default configuration will let programs write to disk.  There are an infinite number of ways you could have broken this functionality.  It is your responsibility to unbreak it.

General Discussion / Re: Direct3D and OpenGL.
« on: November 13, 2010, 02:13:48 PM »
People have a great computer but cannot run OpenGL very well, like my laptop so I am asking if BadSpot could please
read this message and do this. (in V20, V21 or V22)
Please vote for the better.

The master server shows that you're using a laptop.  When playing an intensive game like Blockland, make sure you are on AC power rather than battery power.  Some laptops will limit the performance of your graphics card and cpu to save battery power.  Also, make sure your laptop is not getting too hot as that will also cause the performance to be dialed back.  It's best if you prop it up a little bit to allow air to flow underneath.

I should probably make this a FAQ entry.

Granted the people saying to sign him up for stuff we probably just joking.
You would think that if the didn't all have earnest furry avatars and signatures.

And the OP is clearly a troll (alt?), but who knows whos.
Not everyone is a super-spy pretending to be a naive child as a part of some elaborate ruse to get people to be jerks to them.  Sometimes people are just naive children.

I can't help but notice the overlap between the furries in this thread and douche-bag behavior.  Bans and avatar removal all around.

MrMulch is perma-banned due to having already been banned for being a douche on a previous account.

Help / Re: Games Manifest wtf? Crashes everytime!
« on: November 12, 2010, 07:24:47 PM »
After I downloaded v19, everytime I try to make a server my log says its reviving (or something, i dont remember exactly) games manifest. Then when I join a server and its downloading the games manifest it crashes and says "Could not write Chache Database" or something along those lines. Please help, Im really pissed off.

I don't even know why I bothered copying this from another post.  It is clear that you are functionally illiterate.
