General Discussion / Re: v19

Gah! Item Shape download tick box is missing from the networks tab in the options menu!  D:

Crap, now some people won't be able to enter my server!

EDIT: The only way Badspot could top this is two versions in a day.  :o
The new download system cannot tell what a dts file is used for, only that it is a dts file.  All dts files are downloaded.  Also note that download preferences only apply to files you download from the server.  All file types are downloaded if they are available on the CDN.

Help / Re: "SQLite error: could not write to database."
« on: October 31, 2010, 07:21:41 PM »
Ah. Well, is there anyway to fix this for macs?
Blockland needs write permission to it's own folder.  By default, applications should be able to write to their own folders.  Works for me and others.  I don't know what to tell you.

Does this mean we cant put water inside of bricks anymore?

Behavior before was random due to uninitialized values.  Now you can always plant a water brick inside a regular brick and vice versa.

Is this in the options section? And will this fix my problem?
UAC is a windows setting.

General Discussion / Re: So I think I will be playing blockland again.
« on: October 31, 2010, 06:08:47 PM »
The only thing keeping me from playing is the add-on system.  So If someone who goes to servers frequently and has "Download Item Shapes" on could upload their add-on folder to a file hosting site, I may play blockland again.

Also, tell me what I have missed.

Is this a joke or what?  The latest updates just addressed file download times not 3 days ago.

Help / Re: Resolution Lowered
« on: October 31, 2010, 05:27:37 PM »
In V16 my resolution was 1920 1200. That was the highest resolution I could choose from. But when I updated to V19, the highest resolution was lowered to 1600 1200. How can I fix?

Unless you have a 30 inch monitor you'll have to select fullscreen before selecting 1920x1200

Also having this problem, but on a Windows 7 computer. I get the error when I try to host online or offline. I also get it after downloading the file manifest on any server I join (excluding Badspot's, I've found out).

Either disable UAC or install Blockland to c:/Blockland instead of C:/Program Files/Blockland

Help / Re: What's up with this?

Either you are running the game from the dmg file or Blockland can't write to the Blockland folder for some other reason like permission settings or security software.

Also please do not post ambiguous topic titles.  I have edited your title for you this time.

AustralianAgent is sssddwxg, if that wasn't completely obvious already.

Now that the downloaded add-ons are in a cache folder does that mean I can delete all of these non-zipped folders?
Yes.  Although it will still create a folder for each new map to put the .ml file in.

I see no benefit in download times. My internet is as slow as forget.
This is simply because you have no basis for comparison or you are deliberately being obtuse.

Prior to v18, download speeds were limited to the equivalent of a 28.8 modem.  That is not an exaggeration.  It could literally take 10 hours to download even the barest minimum of necessary files to join a server.

It is now possible to download files literally 1,000 times faster than that.  Even if you are on a 28.8 modem, the duplicate file matching means that you only have to download half as much stuff.

General Discussion / Re: V19 Public Beta 1
« on: October 30, 2010, 04:05:17 AM »
MacOS user here. If I try to place bricks quickly it crashes. If I try to clear bricks, it crashes. This includes changing maps.
I launched the v19 Beta, opened up the brick menu, and tried to place a handful of bricks by holding down enter (my placement button) and using super shift. I used trace(1);. I don't know what you want from it, so I'll just post all of it after I started using trace.

When the download thingy said Would you like to save/open/canel the file Cloud.blockland?

It doesn't say that.  Some of the downloads are hosted at the domain cloud.blockland.us.  Is that what you're talking about?  It's hard to tell what you're talking about when you only speak in vague half sentences and put things in quotes as if that phrase literally appears when it does not.

It doesn't say that.
