It'll be even worse when we're out of iron.
I was thinking about using the water to turn some lava into obsidian, then make a castle-wall style barrier and roof, then use the iron for tools and netherrack for buildings, and the remaining water and dirt for plants.

EDIT: I also feel I am one of the only ones who hasn't fallen to the hippy standard, calling America the devil of the free world, and that communism is good/ democracy is a stuff system.
