Why you hatin on the knfe?
It's only use is utilitarian, it has almost no place on a firearms battlefield.
Last time I checked the US army keeps its infantry money in the nearest barracks and dosent send them to fight suicidal forgettarts with a fist and a knfe
I'm pretty sure the military keeps its money, you know, back at the homeland where it can't be stolen/raided.

lol'd.

Anyway:

NAMEPLATES, do get them. People are trying to scavenge for info on how to turn them on. I have my Halo 2 nameplate on. The information is reached within this page.
I have the Spartan helm.

“Becuase modern warfare says soldiers always carry huge ass amounts of cash and it explodes out when they die it must be true!”
In multiplayer, you're pretty much counted as a mercenary.

The amount of blood in MW2 is trivial, the only time you see it is when you get wounded (it surrounds the edge of the screen to indicate near-death).

Also why does removing blood automatically make a game less violent? That still perplexes me, it makes no sense. You're still killing people, I don't see how a decal automatically makes it more violent.

After playing Legendary alone, I've concluded that the friendly AI is absolute garbage. They literally could be entirely absent. Absolutely worthless, I mean these are leaps in AI we made YEARS ago and they haven't been fixed in Reach. The enemy AI is great, but goddamn, Kat stop staring at a wall and use your weapon. Then again it might be INTENTIONALLY bad on legendary.

Yuki, I'm reading Dr.Halsey's journal, an it's wondefully rich in info. You MUST read it. :D
Already did yesterday, great stuff. Excellent illustrations, it looks legitimate.

Also there's a video game psychology reason that the Chief is a bit more hollow in the games, and that is so players can put themselves in his position easier, much like Stephanie Meyer in Twilight (Bella), albeit with some actual quality and not stuffty fanfiction.

I want to learn about Halo. Where did you learn this.
Mostly from the books (excellent books by the way; The Flood, First Strike, Ghosts of Onyx, The Fall of Reach, with Contact: Harvest being my favorite), but also reading Halopedia.

I've only seen him talk in cutscenes.
wops misread

Yeah I know he's not mute, but he never says anything while you're controlling him, that's what I'm talking about.
Neither does Gordon Freeman, Link, The Saint (SR), or plenty of other games. It's really not an issue when most of his lines only have to do with the cinematic anyway.

Also doesn't he converse with Cortana on the escape from the flood-infected Covenant ship in Halo 3?

I sometimes dream about being kidnapped in the night and conscripted into a Super Soldier Project. :v
Me too  :cookieMonster:
They could still throw in an in-game line or two, like acknowledging the orders he's being given.
He does, typically. Not in-game for whatever reason, but he's definitely not mute.

Oh and not to mention "HURR DURR HE FOLLOWS ORDERS PUPPET" is stupid in any case. He's in the loving military, if you divert from orders in the military you get court martialed and incarcerated. It should be more impressive that he does occasionally change his directive, but he gets away with it because he's always correct in doing so and because he's such a high loving rank.

anyone else think the campaign sucked?
Not at all. I thought a few improvements could have been made with the AI (commanding them for the love of god Jun stop shooting I'm trying to stealth), but otherwise I was satisfied. They really made the Elites fun enemies again, they're goddamned ferocious, way better than Brutes. Although I still wish the AutoMag was in the game, that was an amazing pistol.

I also really like how they made the SPARTAN-III's out, so they're not unstoppable killing machines like the SPARTAN-II's, and they're less invincible (albeit Noble 6 [SPARTAN-B312]'s record is hilarious, a lot of it is redacted. "Hyper-lethal... Only one other Spartan has ever reached that rank..." was said by Halsey, referring the John-117; Noble 6 is just as dangerous as John). Health system is excellent too.

I especially loved the camera work in this game, absolutely fantastic.
I will look like night rider! cool.
Ghost Rider. Night Rider is David Hasslehoff.

I'm a Halo-Nerd.
Also I hate how people refer to the Master Chief as a puppet or a dumb brute, when he really isn't. The games seem like it because he doesn't talk much, but remember: He's been in service for over 30 years, and a lot of his time has been spent watching his comrades die around him. All of his Spartan friends are dead, he's seen cities vaporized and Reach glassed. His silence is probably due to the hardening process of war. Even disregarding that, he has training in more things than you will ever learn, including quantum physics, slipspace travel, bomb defusing, space flight and alien weapons systems. Even THEN, he's always been a combat prodigy, at 14 years old he killed two hardened ODST soldiers in a boxing match and left two others severely injured (he fought all of them at the same time), and he can even see in slow-motion (brain thinks and reacts twice as fast as a normal human. Saying its all a result of the augmentations is only half-right, because as a child he was renown for combat prowess; which is why Halsey personally chose him.

Halo is so rich in fiction, it's wonderful.

So...can you get credits from the campaign. Also, can you customize your character in the campaign??
Yes and yes. The campaign scores just like Firefight and you play as your custom character.

Also I swear to god by the end of the game I thought Noble 6 was going to be John-117. It totally set it up like that.

ALSO Reach's multiplayer beats the living stuff out of Halo 3, it's so much more fluid and fun, and the forge mode oh god I came everywhere.

Triple-also: The custom maps that come with Forge World are all recreations of previous Halo maps. There is:
Ascension
Coagulation
Sanctuary
One based on Lockout (You can build Lockout, the pieces are there).
Please tell me there is online dogfighting.
No, there is not, but that's okay because they've drastically improved multiplayer.

But the only reason I want it is because I want to murder every one of them.
With guns and shovels and pee.
Can't forget gasoline.
