Oh please.
Why is it so cool and edgy to question authority figures? Are you too saying that all those scientific studies are government propaganda as well? The government has its flaws on this subject; it should be teaching children about it instead of shunning it altogether. That way edgy people wouldn't start doing drugs because the man said it's bad!
Do you have ANY loving clue how dangerous it is to NOT question authority? I mean first off, we wouldn't loving exist if it weren't for the revolutionaries who formed this country you little arrogant stuff. You absolutely ALWAYS question your authority figures, if not, you're an enabler for the type of atrocious stuff governments and people with power have gotten away with in the past, and continue to get away with today.
EDIT: wait, I never said you were advocating or denouncing the legalization directly. Simply said, your has wording made it seem like one of those people who often do things simply to defy authority. If you are not this kind of person, I apologize for the assumption.
On one hand, by "defy authority", you could mean doing things that are largely disrespectful solely to be disrespectful, which I don't advocate, but on the other hand, you could mean people who do things against the wishes of authority in order to keep them in check or to fight against something they believe is unethical or something of that nature, which I encourage. If no one questioned authority, we'd still have segregated bathrooms and restaurants.
If it weren't for people like this, our world would never progress. There'd still be racism and executions and lynchings, there'd still be slavery and monarchies.
Allowing people to abuse dangerous drugs is in violation of what the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence deem as "unalienable rights".
No, it's not. This is a huge political and philosophical argument that still continues, but we, as people, have the right to put into our own bodies what we wish, even if it's toxic or dangerous (if what you say is true, Cigarettes and Alcohol would be illegal). Stopping people from doing something that does not harm others or others property is not what we want, it's extremely unethical, the government should NEVER be deciding that type of thing for us. If that was the case, we wouldn't be a Capitalist Republic, we'd be a socialist state.
It really pisses me off that there's still irresponsible forgettards who think the government should be some sort of gigantic babysitter system that needs to protect us from ourselves. These type of people are enablers for the Orwellian Nightmare, where it progress to the point where they have tracking chips in people, they moderate all of the rations they hand out, cameras installed in every room of your house, and police can break down your door without reason. That's an extreme, but the point I'm getting at is that the government doesn't need to protect us from ourselves. It exists to protect our rights from outside interlopers, and to act as a mediator for the people. The government SERVES us, they don't control us, and when they think they do, they need to be destroyed.
