Calm your ass down, I know it's "set" during the cold war, it's still fake. I'm not loving saying that I only play games that are 100% super accurate, I'm simply saying that the game has a stupid loving storyline that is unrealistic. You're acting like the loving game is your boy friend, don't get so angry over nothing.

By modern I mean CURRENT conflicts, not stuff from 40 years ago.
A fictitious game being fictitious? Unrealistic, I dare say? Sweet jesus, impossible!
However I agree that it's going to be dumb as stuff, I was getting pissy over you bitching that it's unrealistic/fiction.

be careful what you say, or consequences will NEVER be the same.
you done goofed

Anyway as much as people berate /b/ for being home to a lot of teenagers with nothing better to do, the competent members can and are a legitimate threat to internet users and websites. I dropped the whole LOEL ANON WE ARE LEGION HURR thing years ago, but Anonymous as a group fascinates me. While mainly it's just people with no real talent trying to fit in, some members have various levels of intelligence and different areas of expertise, mainly with hacking and botnets, but a few have amazing investigatory skills as well. When Anonymous makes an enemy, they don't write mean comments, they find your name, email, home address, phone number, cell number, names of your family, all your alt accounts, accounts on other sites, and your entire history of being an active user on the internet, and they don't do nice things with said information. Most times it's for sport, and hilarity (forgetin pizzas man), but sometimes it's legitimately destructive.

I've never been able to get sad from a song with heavier sounds to them (ie Metallica, Ozzy in your case).
I listen more to the content of the lyrics in those songs rather than the heavy guitar riffs.

Well, I have seen a bunch of people talk about it, and I don't want to sound like a noob or anything, but what is it?
It's an image board, popularized by the "random" board, /b/. Also home to Anonymous, also famous for Project Chanology, Habbo raids, hacking, DDOSing, and most recently, this whole Jessica Slaughter thing and the 10 supreme pizzas and a box of wings (a $120 value!) they sent her after retrieving all of her info. They became even more famous after Fox had a special on them and called them terrorists.

Other boards on 4chan are pretty safe, /x/ is pretty neat, but /b/ is the internet hate machine.

Then it's not actually set during anything if it's fiction, it's JUST fake. None of that stuff happened during the cold war, this game is going to have an incredibly lame story just like MW2. Black project is irrelevant, I'm not stupid, I know what Blackops is, I was trying to say what TIMELINE the game is set in.
God you're handicapped.
It's still set in a time period even if it's fiction, and of course it didn't actually happen. It's loving fiction, like 99% of all media. So do you only play games that accurately represent actual events? Oh wait, even games based on real wars are fictitious, so nevermind that. You must not play videogames at all. Even worse is you're criticizing it specifically for creating a fictitious event based on a time period in history. I wish I could slap you through the internet because holy christ that was the dumbest stuff I've seen all day.

Also the timeline it's set in is modern human history. The time period is the Cold War.

What? You can SEE from the trailers that there are portions in Vietnam. Why the forget would they make a game about the Cold War if very little fighting was done during it. Where are you cigarettes getting this information from...
The game is about BLACKOPS. Pay attention.

Quote
Call of Duty: Black Ops is set during the Cold War. Players take the role of black ops operators involved in missions behind enemy lines, taking place in various locations such as the Ural Mountains and Vietnam.
It's fiction.
