too bad its true
Except it's not. It's pretty easy to create that type of dumbass mentality and invent attitudes of people you've never met. Yes, there are SOME starfishs who smoke to look cool, or smoke specifically to break the law, but I have news for you: A large portion of the population smokes. Not just starfish kids, I'm talking adults, using responsibly in their own homes, people who live perfectly normal lives, adults that have children and live wealthily or happily, people who have made the world a better place. I know for a fact, not via proxy, because some of the other parents in my wealthy middle-upper class primarily white neighborhood do it too. Saying you "don't like people who smoke pot" is extremely arrogant and extremely ignorant, and is offensive to those of us who don't act like roosterbags, and enjoy weed without causing trouble for everyone else. Get off your high horse you douchebag, you're not better than the kids who broadcast the fact that they smoke to look cool, you're just as unlikable and just as ignorant.

You can get high off of marijuana. Getting high kills brain cells. Causing brain damage.
No, not really. That'd be getting high of fumes. Getting high of weed is actually the result of thc (and other cannabinoids) binding to receptors in your brain specifically designed for cannabinoids, which stimulate and activate neural pathways. It's not like alcohol, it doesn't depress and deactivate your brain and neurons, it actually stimulates them.

Even if you don't agree with drug use, keeping weed illegal keeps money in the hands of criminals, puts innocent people behind bars, crowds our prisons, and drains our tax dollars. The war on drugs is a massive failure, resulting in wasted time and effort trying to control a substance that is virtually harmless. Making it legal so that states can draft their own laws regarding it is simply the logical, reasonable and ethical choice in this regard.

You don't know what you're talking about.  Why would you kill yourself over a bit of weed?
Because he's a dumbass.

Also if you smoke to much pot you go to sleep.
Drowsiness is a side-effect of THC, and one of the prime reasons I smoke. I have a lot of trouble sleeping, and weed really helps.
How would you go about smoking sixty joints in an hour

and where do you get that much weed
Sarcastic answer, but we've smoked A LOT of weed at one time:

This is well over 10 grams, and I went to work after we all smoked it. The amount of weed you'd need to smoke to actually do damage to yourself is just astronomical. You pass out WELL before you'd be able to. That's not talking dying, that's just talking "damage". It's simply not realistic to overdose on THC, you could say it's impossible and not be very far off. Anyone who says you can smoke enough weed to kill yourself has no idea what they're talking about, it doesn't work that way.

Oh, and to the forgettard arguing that weed doesn't do anything good for humanity; Virtually all culturally prevalent music produced in the last 60 years was made while the respective artists were high. Bob Marley, a very renowned advocate of peace and tolerance was an avid Rastafari and cannabis smoker. If you want to know what weed does to people, it creates peace and understanding.

It can kill you. Just not as fast as Tobacco. I'm not a weed expert, but I damn well know, if you smoke like, 60 joints in an hour. You're dead.
No, it can't. I tried.

Once again, you refer to well-accepted medical information as "big, bad government propaganda", because the job of laws isn't to protect us, but to take away our freedom.

Oh, and you want sources? How about a link to a website you directed me to, one that even has a side affect with citation to a scientific study.

Oh wait, the government made that part up.
We've already had this discussion, and you keep coming back to stuff I've already addressed to you personally. I don't know why you're so unbelievably butthurt about cannabis, I don't know if a plant came into your house and shot your dog, but I'm done arguing with you.
huge economic boost? it'll take years for it to get going strong
It's already going.
what good has pot done for mankind?
What good has McDonalds, Video Games, Energy Drinks, or Tobacco done for mankind? This type of reasoning is completely illogical. If everything was rated on its benefit to our species, then we'd be living in a utopia with no disease or crime or corruption, but that doesn't happen.
unethical? it interferes with the chemical signals in your body
Wrong.

nothing good is going to come from this

also i demand a source
Except, you know, a huge economic boost, the rise of an industry, and the ending to a right-violating and unethical prohibition of a substance that is virtually harmless.

the only way to feel withdrawals from the effects of Cannabis would be to smoke often and with great quantity.
Actually, not even that. To feel physical addiction you'd need to take repeated and large doses of PURE thc. Doses larger and more frequent than heroin users. That simply doesn't happen realistically.

This reporter received massive doses, and she will feel absolutely no withdrawl effects in the coming hours, days, or weeks, to put it into perspective.
Marijuana is not Heroin / Cocaine. Marijuana is not chemically addictive, I don't have any physiological or physical withdrawals if I do not smoke for a week, let alone wanting to kill/rob someone for Weed.
Narko knows virtually nothing about drugs and continues to make dumbstuff posts without citing sources, often reiterating points we've already addressed or debunked, hell-bent on just generally being a jackass because he has some sort of vendetta against substances and users. He continues to reciprocate propaganda garbage and has yet to make a tangible point. Don't argue with him, it won't go anywhere, it'll just clog the thread with bullstuff, not discussion.

I can see where you are coming from. You're thinking about the gateway chain. A completely uneducated person tries one drug, thinks he was lied to in general about every drug, and goes on a spree.
Exactly. It's not a guarantee "OH THEY WILL DO THIS" type of a scenario, but it's better to expect this type of thing and just educate them to be responsible, rather than try to teach them to simply not do things and never question authority. It's really dangerous.

Meh, There aren't to many dental problems that can come with this can there?
With weed? No. With tobacco or coffee, yes.

Certainly. But it's not like I go looking up those type of aritcles on wikipedia.  :cookieMonster:

Really I guess your topic is a informational advertisement for the future of "the younger" then.
I'd really prefer children understand how drugs work and why adults don't want them doing them until they are older and more responsible, rather than not understanding how drugs work and scaring them into ignorance. It's really dangerous to not educate them properly. Imagine we scare a kid into thinking all drugs are bad, then sometime later he smokes weed, and says "WHOA THIS AIN'T BAD", finds out weed is actually not dangerous and that we as a society lied to him, then goes on to try cocaine or heroin because he now thinks all of that info he was taught was entirely lies and that other drugs are possibly just as safe. It's sortof a longshot, but what I'm getting at is that it's better to educate them on information and responsibility, and educate them on making responsible decisions rather than playing into this whole fearmongering machine we have going right now.

I don't trust a lot of the users to listen to the "don't do it until you are a little older rule" chances are they are going to do it anyway.
The information they read in that thread is information that can be found anywhere else on the internet. If they want to do something stupid and ignore warnings, then they're going to do it regardless of if they read my thread or if they read through an article on reddit or wikipedia. You can't stop kids from doing stuff simply by depriving them of knowledge. It's better to educate them on facts so that they understand WHY certain things shouldn't be done, rather than playing into that whole "scare them into submission" bullstuff that the DARE program advocates so heavily.

medical legalization is an incredibly different thing
Not when you understand how lenient officials are with giving out cards, and that literally anyone can get one for around $100 in order to buy and smoke legally. Look at California, medical is just a loophole to enable recreational.
It's not like you make the choice for them you massive idiot. Your topic can advocate the use of them regardless of wheather or not you consider it informational. I'm not against your topic necessarily but the place you chose to make is the dumbest choice I've ever seen.
Well no stuff, it's an informative thread with the sole purpose of being informative. Wikipedia doesn't advocate the use of cocaine simply because it houses information on the substance you clown.
