It is. It is terribly handicapped. In the most literal way.The government isn't a machine, it's a configuration of people, who need money to operate, and the people they hire need money to do what they do, and so on and so fourth down the line. People don't do services for free, people don't manufacture and build for free. The government has to manage and control currency, it has to spend the same as any other operation, taxes are a way to collect revenue to spend on things that benefit the country. It's not handicapped, it makes absolute sense. If you're a citizen then you pay taxes to the government so the government can do what they do to keep the country running. They misuse tax dollars quite a bit, but the concept still stands.
I really wish out government wasn't so money driven. It seems like that's all they care about. When will they realize that money is just a value placed on paper. The government should be run by the people, for the people. Not run by the rich and powerful, for the money.
