« on: May 13, 2011, 01:46:10 PM »Lego coins are really very strange, if you scaled them up they're about the size of a CD and would be worth around $400 if they were made of solid gold (using 0.28 troy ounces, estimated 10mm disc with a radius of 120mm). That stack LeetZero posted would be worth over $1600 and weigh nearly a pound! Really you should be able to fit a pile of dozens of coins in one square. I think people just use the 1x1f cylinder because that's the smallest cylinder we have in the game and it's similar to what they're used to using from playing with legos. We don't have to do the same thing lego does, in fact, it would probably be better if we didn't. Personally, I would love to have piles and stacks of coins.
Of course, the giant coin is still perfect for a medallion, which is a fine way to store gold, especially if you're a pirate.
I have the most precious stack of gold coins as models on a game forum, I am so loving special.
