Is the 18+ rating in the UK and wherever else that uses it the same as an "X rated" movie in the United States? Or is it "R rated"? I'm pretty sure you mean "R" (Restricted). In the USA, kids are allowed into R-rated movies only if they have a guardian with them.

When was the last time an X rated movie was released anyways? I'm assuming they can't even advertise them normally but still, have any been out?

So you can play half-life without having to buy half-life?
Steam allows that?

I believe how it is going to work is that you cannot beat the half-life campaign by yourself. You'll need co-op in order to do stuff like pressing two buttons at once and etc. in order to proceed.
