Help / "Bad Key" error for Steam Key Transfer
« on: December 16, 2013, 07:06:40 PM »
I tried to transfer my steam key using the conversion on the site.  I logged into my steam account successfully, and I entered my steam key.  I directly copied and pasted the key from my original email I received from Badspot when I bought the game.  But it keeps telling me it is a "Bad key."  I tried removing the dashes, and replacing the dashes with spaces. Neither of these worked.

Anyone else having this problem?  It may have something to do with the fact that I have a very old key (ID 212) but idk?

Creepy Cereal Boxes!
9 Creepy-ass cereal box parodies!

Description
Lord Tony requested these cereal boxes be made.  I did not make any of the art for these boxes.  Tony found a website where a bunch of artists made really creepy cereal box parodies.  I packaged up my 9 favorite ones for him to use and he insisted that I release them on the forums so that kids could get their daily dose of arsenic.

Includes:
Hellfire Blazin' Bran
Despairios
Sugar Frosted Kids
Capsized Crunch
Abominable Frostbites
Kap'n Kreep
Rice Kreepies
Bone Brunchers
Dead Cereal

Help / Minigame Vehicle Respawn Time doesn't work
« on: August 25, 2013, 06:14:31 PM »
Whenever a vehicle dies in a minigame it instantly respawns, rather than following the set time you adjusted for it in the minigame.

And I want to have the respawn time for longer than 30 seconds, so cheating with events won't work..  Anyone have a fix for this or know what causes it?

Suggestions & Requests / Dinosaur Bots
« on: March 27, 2013, 07:41:52 PM »
Dinosaurs would kick so much ass.  They would be even cooler if they somewhat resembled LEGO's dinosaurs.

The essentials:

T-Rex:

Triceratops:

Stegosaurus:

Raptor:

There's obviously tons of cool dinosaurs that would make fun and interesting bots, but those 4 are easily some of the most well-known and more classic dinosaurs, and they all have LEGO counterparts that would make for good conversion into Blockland.

Modification Help / Custom Speedkart Gamemode Won't Work
« on: February 18, 2013, 05:49:32 PM »
I'm hosting a speedkart server and needed a couple extra mods for it, so I added them to the gamemode.txt file.  (Event_Zones, Event_emote, Brick_Zones, Light_Ambient, and Vehicle_Snail)

I also edited the preview.jpg & thumb.jpg, and the description.txt

I did not touch any of the other files and I packaged them all the same way into a new zip called GameMode_SpeedKart_Youse.zip

When I test this gamemode, all the buttons in the spawn area spawn Default Jeeps rather than speedkarts...  All of the tracks have the same problem.  I tried removing the Snail mod from the gamemode to see if that would fix it, but it didn't. I also tried removing ADDON Vehicle_Jeep from the gamemode.txt but when I tested it, it said Vehicle_Jeep was a required file and should be added to the gamemode.txt..

I'm not sure what went wrong, I had all these mods enabled when I saved the original files and I didn't touch any of the other coding...  Anyone have any ideas?

(Edit: I also tested the default speedkart gamemode again to make sure it wasn't a problem with that, but that one still works fine)

Heres a download of the Gamemode so you can look at it
http://www.mediafire.com/?opsu8d781dabu00

Fixed: Trigun is best tech support ever

The gamemode was still loading from the original speedkart gamemode, so the karts weren't actually loading.

General Discussion / Jirue's Youse Raceways: Submit Your Racetracks!
« on: February 04, 2013, 09:42:30 PM »
Youse Raceways
Youse* is building racetracks to eventually be hosted in a server as a series of rotating races!
But we need / would greatly appreciate your help!

We need more racetracks!  You can help by submitting racetracks you have built.  You can submit your builds by following this form:

In-Game Name:
BL_ID:
Racetrack Title:
[Thumbnail Picture of Racetrack]
Download Link: (Put this in packaged form as described here)
General Theme/Description of your track: (This is to help us create a decent Environment File for your map) Add the Environment file to your .zip ^^^

Example:
In-Game Name: Jirue
BL_ID: 212
Racetrack Title: Magma Marathon

Download Link: [Insert Link Here]
General Theme/Description of your track: Lava themed track with rocky structures.

Requirements

  • Must be made of GSF Terrain (Basic Pack + Inverted Pack with ModTer_Default2 Print set) or default bricks.  No other brick packs or prop mods.  **Hehe these are default now!
  • Must use Default Colorset (I will not spend time converting your build from another colorset to default)
  • Must have a definite start and finish line (Not a loop)
  • Must fit 20 drivers
  • Should be challenging enough to narrow 20 players down to 1-3 players at the end, but not frustrating or unfair
  • Should have an original or unique theme that sets it apart from the others
  • Should be fun to drive, not repetitive and boring
  • May (but not required to) include shortcuts, but shortcuts should not be too easy and should especially not be easier than the main track
  • Gameplay is more important than appearance, but atmosphere should not be dull
  • *Vehicles are currently limited to Filipe's Speedkarts.  If your track revolves around a different vehicle and follows all the other criteria, ask about it and it may be accepted.

**Use the template build linked to here to create your start/finish line

If your track is used, we will give you full credit in-game and on the forums.  If two or more people worked on your track with you and you want to give them credit, be sure to put their names in the application with yours.  We will give them full credit as well.  If you submit your track you are giving us permission to modify it as we see fit and make changes.

Not all submissions will be used.  Tracks will be judged based on how fun they are to play, how creative and different from the other tracks they are, and overall quality.  (We don't expect your track to look amazing.  GSF terrain is honestly kinda ugly.  Focus more on Gameplay)  If your track isn't quite up to par, I will make changes to it until it is good.  If your track is far from par, we will try to give you tips and criticism on how you can make your track better.

Once we have enough finished tracks, Jirue will host the server with RTB Dedicated Hosting and all the tracks will rotate.  Credit will be given to the author along with the track's title when the track is loaded.

Off Topic / Post Your Christmas Loot!
« on: December 20, 2012, 09:42:41 PM »
I seriously had the best Christmas ever this year.

My parents managed to get me THIS :D

THE MOFUQIN PORTAL GUN

And the coolest thing is that it has little magnet strips and a 3-way switch so you can also have P-Body and Atlas :D:D:D

:D  Regular obviously has the standard Blue and Orange, Pbody has yellow-orange and red-orange.  and Atlas has Purplish-Blue and Light-blue :D

I also got this super cute mini version on accident :P

My parents got me the mini one for my desk because they couldn't find the big one (since it had been sold out since it was released) and then my dad found the large version online :D:D:D:D

Post about your Christmas :)

Environment Files / Day/Night Cycle - Youse
« on: December 06, 2012, 12:17:02 AM »
The youse cycle is the better cycle!  If you're like me, you think the default day/night is WAY too dramatic and has way too many drastic lighting changes.  This cycle has the perfect "normal" day cycle for anyone.

I made this custom day/night cycle and it works fine except the night time bit isn't NEARLY as dark as I set it to be and it has a weird yellow ambient light that isn't in the code.

Suggestions & Requests / Map Settings Memory for Custom Gamemode
« on: November 25, 2012, 02:37:54 PM »
Every time you start up Custom game mode it auto loads map settings with that ugly grey ground texture and the boring sky.  It's a bit of a pain to reset the settings every time you start up Custom mode.
Could anyone make a mod that remembers the map settings every time you close/reset Custom?

Games / Steam Library Thumbnails
« on: September 17, 2012, 08:55:56 PM »
Hay guys, You know those steam library thumbnails and how some games don't have them?  Well heres a thread where you can post your custom ones :D

To set them you just right click the game in your library and "Set Custom Image"
The file size is 460 x 215

Here are ones I made for Blockland and Black Mesa Source.

More can be found here

Faces, Decals, Prints / ► How to make Multi-Brick Prints
« on: August 19, 2012, 01:33:04 AM »
Recently, for Blockoworld, I made 2 big advertisements with posters on them.  They each used 8 print bricks pieced together to make one big picture.  I have done this before in my Portal prints pack, but a lot of people asked me how to do it properly recently, so I thought I'd make this tutorial.

By Multi-Brick Prints, I mean one big printed picture made out of several smaller print bricks.

In this tutorial, I will be using one of the ads I made for Blockoworld as a refference:

First of all, you need to figure out the dimensions of your poster in Print Bricks.
This poster is 4x2 (4 Print Bricks Width X 2 Print Bricks Height)

Now we need to open an image editor.  I use Adobe Photoshop.  We need to create a new document to fit the entire poster. A standard Print brick is 256x256, so we need to multiply those dimensions by how many print bricks we have.
Start a new document, and set the pixels so that it fits the following equation:
(256 x W) x (256 x H) where W= Print Brick Width and H= Print Brick Height
This will give us the size of the full poster.

In my case, I have 4 print bricks x 2 Print bricks.  So my equation would look like this:
(256 x 4) x (256 x 2) which would give us a total dimension of 1024 x 512

Press OK and you will get a new blank document.  Next you just have to create your print!

My print is already completed, I can't really help you with this part.  Make the poster however you want!

Next we need to copy and paste each section of the poster into it's own 256x256 print so we can export it into Blockland.
If the program you are using has Guidelines, that will help with this part.
Select a 256x256 square, there are various methods to do this.  Copy this selection.  If your program uses layers you will need to use "Copy Merged" or something of the like.

Start a new file with the dimensions 256x256

And paste what you selected & copied from the whole poster into this file.

You will need to do this for EACH PIECE of your poster.

Save Each piece of the poster this way and all of their corresponding icons into the proper packaging for a Print.  You can read more about packaging prints here.
Tip:  For some reason, prints are exported in game in reverse alphabetical order.  This means if you name all of your prints in order starting with 1, 2, 3, and 4, they will export in game as 4, 3, 2, 1.  So it is helpful to name all of your prints starting with a number, counting backwards, so that they all show up in order in game and are easy to place.

Then once you have properly packaged the decals and installed them, just lay out your print bricks and print each individual print in order!

I hope this tutorial was helpful!  If you have any questions or parts were confusing for you, just ask!

Suggestions & Requests / Gamemode- Rampage +
« on: August 10, 2012, 07:24:16 PM »
More levels to Rampage, also gives you a timer and score on builds you load.

Was honestly super disappointed that custom builds didn't give you a timer/score/leveling up, kinda pointless that way.

Also it should give you a score board of the players and how many bricks they broke, in order of who broke the most.

General Discussion / v21: Like or Dislike?
« on: August 10, 2012, 02:21:28 AM »
Now that v21 is finally out, do you like it or dislike it?

I personally like it, but I didn't think that it'd be this hard to let go of the old version..

I honestly feel really bummed that it's gone forever.  It's just kind of a part of you.  Something you grew to know and love over 4 or 5 years, and now it is totally gone and you can never go back. (unless you have a laptop with the old version lol)

give your opinions.
