« on: June 08, 2017, 05:28:15 PM »
all the major parties have ruled out coalitions except tories
Yeah, at the moment there is no visible coalition at all. Everyone has said they won't form one pretty much, so we're almost for sure heading directly for a hung parliament and whatever that may hold for an outcome.

also the gains in Sunderland are bigger for tories than labour
I mean that really has no impact in the result; they've won the seat which is a pretty black and white situation.

completely off topic but why does the uk have completely forgeted city names
What you on about boi?

First 2 seat result in
Newcastle Upon Tyne Central:Labour
Sunderland: Labour

if you had someone fun like Boris Johnson this wouldn't have happened
Boris Johnson is not popular in the slightest since the last referendum. It would have most likely been a similar outcome.

Just to explain to any Americans who don't know how the system works here, there are 650 seats across the UK. Each constituency votes for an MP to represent them, who then takes one of those seats.
Whichever party holds a MAJORITY of seats can then formally request the monarch to form a government.
If no majority is met, then there will either be a recount, re-vote, or a coalition government will be formed between parties who can form a majority together.

We should see some of the first results come in the next 10-20 minutes from Sunderland or Newcastle, so stay tuned!

Once again the political sphere in the UK is reaching a boiling point.
Earlier in the year on April 18th 2017, a snap election was called by the current conservative government that will fall on June 8th 2017. This thread is a place for debate and discussion about the UK political system and news surrounding the election process.

I'll try to keep this as updated as I can, and will put resources at the bottom for people who are interested in finding out more.

Underneath are the top priorities of some of the key parties. Click on the banner underneath to be taken to the BBC website to see more.

For some more details, you can visit the BBC's Election 2017 page to keep up with news surrounding it.

And if you're unaware of how the UK's political system works or are completely unaware of why all of this happening, you can visit a fantastic Youtube channel, ArguingFromIgnorance. He does unbiased breakdown videos on several topics, but more specifically he has a series currently going all about the election itself.

Will maybe add a news section at some point and a couple other bits, but thought it would be good to get the thread out there so a sphere of discussion can begin! If you have any suggestions of things to add please feel free to mention it in a reply and I'll see what I can do.

It has a few other things in there too. The most recent version works now. Bit clunky, but it works

Add-Ons / Re: Make Eventing Great Again (An actual update!)
« on: April 30, 2017, 12:21:12 PM »
Broken all of my opened events and broke the GUI.
Care to elaborate?
Like what other GUI modifying add-ons you might have?

Also a question, what does "opened events" mean? Do you mean pre-existing events you've already written and are now opening/editing with MEGA installed?

53
GUIs...?

edit: o wait just read the very bottom, nvm
note that i left out guis and vehicle exporting. im not entirely sure how to do either of them, and would greatly appreciate help by people who know the ins and outs of them.

It helps out with server administration and as you can see, gives people the ability to talk to the server.
I've added a command /toggleDiscord, but shouldn't be necessary to use as long as people don't spam the chat like Tampada did.
If I see any people spamming the discord chat, I'll just end up blocking them from using the room. Also I've tweaked the bots permissions so it can't @everyone anymore.

If people really don't want to listen to it, it isn't going away any time soon. So for now just right click on the channel and click mute. That way you shouldn't get any notifications or blips for new posts.

Add-Ons / Re: Make Eventing Great Again

MEGA is disrupting all sorts of events on my server. The default pong build no longer works with the mod enabled, as well as cancelevents, toggleeventenabled, and seteventsenabled.

Are you guys tampering with default events or what?
If you type /toggleeventpackage and set it to off then everything should work fine. It'll go back to using the default system, but you won't be able to utilise the input parameters part of the addon. Everything cosmetic like colouring, indentation, copy-pasting etc will still work though! :)

56
If you arent full, could I join and try to make an eventing tutorial mode? Also you should host a server with booths a bit like Spadea arcade and New years server.
*cough*spades arcade is in progress rn*cough**cough*

Unfortunately there's currently an issue with the input parameters/server part of the pack.
To fix that issue, just type /toggleeventspackage and then triggering the brick after that will work fine! You won't be able to use the input parameter part of the add on though, so will have to go about projectile checks the old fashioned way.
In regards to the "None" changing to blank, once you've toggled events package then it'll only be a visual thing and have 0 impact.

In the next update I think Dren plans to have it toggled off by default until there's a fix c:

IIRC it also enabled all the disabled events when it had indentation and such

???

Tried it with several different events, force-plant, duping a group of bricks; all yield the same expected normal result
