Off Topic / Re: Best Meat
« on: August 04, 2023, 10:27:37 AM »
Shrimp is excellent though it requires conditions:
  • Fully-grown shrimp. Smaller shrimp taste too much like fish and not enough like shrimp.
  • De-shelled for convenience. Shelled probably tastes better but I'm not eating crab. I'm eating shrimp.
  • Pan fried, oven baked, or grilled are ideal. Breading & deep frying is too much.
It's a demanding meat but if-done right it can taste better than most seafood; even lobster tail.

No one asked about me but figured I'd drop in anyway.

I still exist. Slowed down posting in 2015 because it was getting detrimental to my personal life. Since then I've grown a lot more passionate about game design brown townysis and have started to pursue writing about it more. Someday I may even make a game of my own. Other than that I've taken up Final Fantasy XI & XIV, occasional Guilty Gear, and game collecting (specifically Shin Megami Tensei, and resuming the hunt-down of PS2 triple packs). I'm also in the Brickadia, Blockland United, and B4v21 Discords but I'm not super active in them.

While I'm here, anyone ever kept contact with Pepsimann? He built a lot of modern military stuff and we did some amateur machinima filming together. RiG66144 is someone else I wouldn't mind reconnecting with but that's more of a gamble.

If someone tells another person to do something stupid, who is guilty?
The person telling them to do it. loving Christ it's not even a contest. If you think someone has the potential to do stuffty things, spurring them on to do those stuffty things makes you the bad person. Chris-Chan likely wouldn't have done half the stuffty things she did if terminally online forgetwads didn't enable/encourage it. It'd be better for both her and the internet if she just faded into obscurity as a small-town weirdo.

KiwiFarms says they discourage direct interaction with the people they laugh at, but that's not really enforceable unless people on their forum brag about it. And being a public website, a sizable chunk of their traffic (and pretty much every public website) are people who aren't logged in/don't have accounts registered at all. Hell, the site didn't even have account registering enabled at the time of its shutdown. At that point it's not a rule. It's a request, and it's one that gets willfully ignored constantly.

Three people have committed Self Delete because of KiwiFarms harassment. They've exploited people with genuine mental health issues. They've literally investigateed people with malicious intent. They willfully hosted the manifesto of a Hardcore Gamer. They even hosted a Neo-national socialist site called Action Zealandia, which no one even knew was related to them until both sites went down at the same time.

I doubt KiwiFarms will truly go away without legal action. Realistically they'll probably shift over to Tor. But taking away their public platform is a good thing, whether it stays up or not.

General Discussion / Re: Biggest Regrets?
« on: December 06, 2021, 10:48:33 AM »
My only regret in the game itself is not spending enough time building. 99% of my playtime has been richarding around in default saves and never learning how to actually make something detailed. Now that Brickadia is in open Alpha I have zero skills to translate over.

I also have plenty of forum regrets:
  • Every post I made in IRL pictures
  • Misrepresenting Sunstone and inadvertently pushing people away from it
  • Being hostile towards literally anyone with a ban history, or anyone I deemed as a 'problem user'
  • Miscommunicating my politics and paraphrasing things I didn't fully understand
  • Assuming I was universally hated and making a drama thread about it that didn't address anything
  • Picking this username despite having two opportunities to change it
  • Spending too much time on the forum in general. It reached unhealthy obsession levels, especially in 2014

I don't think anything I did here is incriminating to me today, but it still haunts me.

Off Topic / Re: still finding blockland users around the net

I've getting kinda deep into Guilty Gear recently and entered an open 'beginner' tournament that ChexGuy also happened to have signed up for. He ended up backing out, but it was surreal to see someone I kinda knew outside Blockland.

General Discussion / Re: Why did you keep playing Blockland?
« on: March 30, 2021, 01:15:42 PM »
At the moment, Blockland is arguably the most robust and streamlined Lego-like sandbox out there. Coupled with the event system and expansive add-on library, there isn't really anything like it, and likely won't be for a long time (at least not until Brickadia gets finished).

General Discussion / Re: things you regret doing on blockland

Way too much to name, though a vast majority of my mistakes have been forum posts.

I'm jealous of kids growing up with Discord. Any dumb mistakes they make now will likely die with their temporary servers. Every mistake I made here is likely to be recorded forever.

choosing this name
Oh yeah that too, but I think it'll work out in my favor if people try searching for dirt on me. This username is both a gift and a curse.

General Discussion / Re: what is the worst/best default save
« on: August 10, 2020, 09:39:16 AM »
Best: Sirrus Military Compound. Wish we could've seen what it looked like when it was fully functional.

Worst: Haunted House. Easily my least-loaded default save. Impossible to find without admin warping, and not even that interesting to explore.

General Discussion / Re: ater school special found?
« on: October 21, 2019, 09:57:12 PM »
After School Special (and probably every piece of music in Blockland) apparently originates from a royalty-free CD that Badspot purchased in 1996. The true scavenger hunt is to find that CD.

These are the only vinyls I personally own. Still sealed, too.

RPGs with a story focus are bland and uninteresting. Give me gameplay or give me nothing.
