I've thoroughly enjoyed Blacklight: Retribution in all the times I've played it, though I heard some bad things about a recent update regarding the microtransactions. Play at your own risk.

Got hit with some malware that shut down internet access on my laptop once. Still lingered afterwards, preventing me from connecting to anything other than my home router.

I miss bounty hunter DMs. I've played two different servers that used it and neither of them stayed up for very long. I've been looking for other multiplayer games that have a similar gamemode and haven't found anything.

My knowledge on this subject is minimal, but I think The Better Mod deserves mentioning. I've been told the mod had code that made itself permanently embedded into the base game, and drama surrounding the mod users spawned a purge. It seemed like their plan was to make Blockland irrelevant by making their own game, but it backfired and they became irrelevant themselves.
