Add-Ons / Re: [Vehicle] SailBoat
« on: October 30, 2016, 12:36:16 AM »
That's what inspired me to make boats, Almost every server doesn't have any boats at all, only the bot ones which when you turn, the whole boat turns. I just hope that Conan finds out how to make it Click enter only, Just waiting for that now so I can release the yacht and then I'll update the sail boat for it. After the yacht I'm going to make a fishing boat
Yeah, I'm a big navy person, so the lack of anything always disappointed me. I mean, I did just fine with the GSF Carrier, but I always felt it was a little bit disappointing that this was the only big boat we ever had.

I'm glad to see that you are making boats though. We have an excess of planes, spaceships, cars, tanks, etc., but we've been completely ignoring the water, and haven't been putting out very many boats.

Wouldn't that kill fps. And if it spazzed out it could crash a server.
Well, the GSF Carrier is pretty huge, and it generally works just fine, even if you happen to crash into something with it. So, I don't imagine a full sized yacht would be very glitchy at all, as long as you're not trying to glitch it out.

Add-Ons / Re: Bushido's Newest Weapon Packs
« on: September 28, 2016, 04:35:38 PM »
As said beforehand, considering the excessively large amount of weapon mods in circulation, there was no real loss in these ones remaining private, and it hardly seems like it matters that they are no longer private, in the long run, since most people will probably still use something like T+T or some other popular weapon pack anyways, and skip right by this. The only thing this is really useful for is to be an add-on to add to some collection of lost, fail-binned, or private add-ons, especially when you consider that Bushido hasn't quite given it the love and attention it probably needs yet.

However, I think that these add-on leaks really should serve as a reminder to people to get away from that hording mentality around private add-ons. Sure, it's pretty douchey to flaunt a shiny new toy that nobody else in the playground gets to play with, but to me, stealing that toy away just because you want to play with it before forgetting all about it is also pretty douchey. Private add-ons in general are a bad idea imo, but you shouldn't go around taking what isn't yours, only to expect the owners to be happy about it. There were better ways to about this, but leaking it like this was a pretty big richard move.

The last thing this game needs is to lose one of the few people who still actively care about creating good quality things for it.

This is pretty neat. While I don't know Klingon, it's pretty interesting to see client sided mods like these. Will you be doing more of these chat scripts? I've always been pretty interested in seeing languages from The Elder Scrolls in Blockland, such as the Dragon tongue or Daedric language.

Add-Ons / Re: RenderMan Labs map

This really should be locked. It's in the wrong section as everyone's been saying, so it's probably better just to post it in the right section and let this one die.

Looks pretty decent though. I mean, the blocky feel on the buildings seems fairly ugly, especially with the lack of any windows or real aesthetics to them, but I do like the fences all around the entrance, definitely gives the feel of a highly secured lab. I haven't actually played through it at all, and that's only me looking at the pictures, but from what I do see, it doesn't look all that bad.

I don't really understand these sort of things, so pardon me for asking this.

What is brick tessellation? Does it improve performance or something?

Lol, if you couldn't find one, you shoulda just made one. They're extremely easy to make. I still think it's pretty cool though. It's a good start.

Edit: Oops, didn't check the dates. My bad on the bump.

Hmm... Development is no longer inside the "Blockland Forums" section, but in the Announcements section.... by itself. Just noticed that.

Off Topic / Re: Why does daylight savings time even exist now?
« on: March 09, 2015, 11:50:12 AM »
Used to live in Arizona, so I never ended up using daylight savings time until I was about 11 years old. Then I moved and had to start using it. In all the time I've been using daylight savings time, not once have I forgotten to change the time, and not once has my sleep schedule been messed up because of it. I suppose not everyone's the same, but any flexible person can do it, really. Also, you can at least try to talk to your counselors if you really have that much of an issue with a single tardy.

There is one thing I dislike, though. I move around a lot, and it can be pretty confusing when I'm either right above or driving over a location that does not use daylight savings time. My phone will go crazy changing times back and forth over places that use or don't use DST. That can make it a lot more confusing to tell how much time has passed than without DST. Let's be honest: time zones are about as useless as ever, anyways. I hate the idea that midnight always has to be 12:00 at night, everywhere you go. I personally don't think time should have to do with relative position of the sun at all. But hey, those are just my opinions.
