Off Topic / Going to take up russian. anybody have good things i can learn with?

I'm taking up russian. it's going to be awesome. and russian. i can't use it here in texas, but that doesn't matter. does anybody have any good sources or anything? i'll probably end up finding something after a long time, but support would be so cool.

Off Topic / Kade Leveled up! level 15

today i leveled up to 15 :3
level 15 got me:
-a haircut (there was probably enough hair for a wig, my hair was 22 inches long and now it stops at my neck)
-lots of money
-i forgot what i'm interested in (god dammit)
-got to eat crab for the first time
-for 7 hours i was unable to see another human being because my parents were at work.
-i started to help myself with my low self esteem bullstuff
-ear piercing
so yeah. not all level ups are the happiest ones i suppose. next will be better. as a teenager i just wish i had answers about myself. there seems to have been a drop off point where i just don't know who i am, what i like anymore. it also hit me that i have only 2 real friends that i can talk to during the summer.

Help / Return to blockland has a new update available! "read only sorry nope"

Yeah, so problem is as title says. when i open BL, i get a notification saying the newest version of rtb is out. i click "download" like any respectable fellow, and an error comes up saying my copy of RTB is read only. so i decided to find it, and change it back if it is. well turns out it WASN'T read only, however my computer said it could be blocking it. i used the "unblock function" changed the folder to read only and back, then restarted bl to try again. same thing. i've also reinstalled RTB.

Hey guys. i have depression, go to a therapist etc. no meds, i don't want my mind to be controlled by a medicine. anyways, i am fine when i'm talking to people, but when i'm isolated my mind gets cluttered with annoying horrible thoughts. i did some searching, and meditating seems to be a way to clear my mind of these things.

does/has anyone on this forum know how to meditate/ever done it? have any tips?
also i can tell you about those thoughts if you ask. that's just not the main idea of the thread so i didn't go into detail.

Off Topic / i got 84 bucks in change! what do i spend it on?

Hey everyone, i have been saving up spare change in a big water container, and today it filled up the very bottom, so i took it to coinstar, found out i had 84.65 in coins. (92 or so, actually, coinstar tax augiwhgai) anyways, i cashed it, and i want to buy something with it. any suggestions? i may end up saving it for a better amp, if i don't spend it.

Games / is there a way to get only default files with garry's mod?

Is there a way to get only the default files, meaning get rid of the mods and stuff that don't work, and still keep default? i want to clean it, as i keep getting lockups and console spam from broken mods that i don't know how to uninstall. if there is a method of getting rid of all files and getting back defaults, i'd like to know. i've been led to believe that just deleting the entire file from the steamapps folder is bad..

help?

Off Topic / I need help setting up internet with ubuntu

I know there was a topic and everything, but i can't look for it right now.
anyways i went and installed Ubuntu, and i am trying to set up the internet. is it bad i have no idea what kind of connection i have?

i'm sure that's a problem. i just know the word router is tossed around a lot here, and i've got a little box with a usb port that plugs into my computer and connects to the main box on the other computer, which connects to the internet.
it's a netgear.

so yeah, help? i'll be happy to give any info you need to help

Off Topic / The Thing (The new one)

Yeah, they made a remake of the old "the thing" movie. or so i thought. i went to see it, and turns out it's actually a prequel, with the end leading up somewhat perfectly to the beginning of the older movie.

SPOILEEEERRRS
Basically a bunch of Norwegian men out in Antarctica find a block of ice with this thing in it and it breaks out and forgets up everyone's stuff. and it can imitate people.
and getting it's cells on your cells causes it to eat up the cells inside your body and mimic the old ones, leaving the person oblivious to the fact they are this thing, until of course they change.

REVIEWS
The critics say this movie was so/so, because it wasn't a straight up copy of john carpenters movie. (dammit forget critics) but most to all users loved it and gave it high ratings. it's definitely worth watching, and if you've seen the first movie you'll see how well it ties in with it. I personally loved it.

Off Topic / I think i might be depressed.

I don't know why, or how, but i feel that i may be depressed. every day i walk my school like a zombie, everything bores me, and i just feel overall helpless right now. (Yeah i know i'm talking to a lego forum now leave.) I've had a lifeless 3 weeks. certainly not happy. I cannot find anything that makes me smile in the slightest. Dunno, but it sounds a bit like depression.
I started building this model car thing, before all of this started, and it was pretty entertaining. of course i STILL haven't finished it and i'm not happy anymore. not even my favorite things cheer me up. My social life took a drop downhill, I've lost almost all of my self esteem. what the forget. this is harder to explain than i thought. just.. discuss i guess.

Off Topic / Guys, something is wrong with my computer.

A little while back, something happened. (I HAVE NO IDEA :U) but after what happened, my computer suddenly started getting a whole lot of graphical errors. such as little static lines moving on the screen all over. and sometimes my browser (firefox) will turn black. and for some annoying reason that really evades me, my computer goes into sleep mode whenever it wants to. i ended up figuring how it was SUPPOSED to come out, by pressing the monitor button, when that happened it told me to press any key or button to wake it up, or press the monitor button to change my input or something. (its not my input) I SWEAR TO GOD I'VE PRESSED EVERY KEY ON THIS KEYBOARD, AND IT WENT BACK TO SLEEPING. so i had to restart a whole lot, using the unsafe way. long story short, my computer is being a piece of crap.

Any help? i want this to stop.
