Help / Authentication Failure

Keep getting random auth fails and verification fails.
If I host, this crashes everyone. Sometimes I get it after lagging. I also get "no user / host in entry" or something.
This is really annoying me. I've tried hosting on different machines, different OS's, still getting it.

My ID is 4127, legitimate purchase of course.
I am banned from the mod manager at RTB, could this have any effect?


Please help. :c

Plate 3 Wine

Description
I was sitting in my chair, looking out the window. And I suddenly had this crazy idea of a Slate edit that was a sea of wine, with floating wine glasses in the sky. I have no idea why, it just seemed so funny and abstract and I HAD to do it. The result is an amusing and abstract Plate 3 slate edit, which organizes itself nicely with the Plate 3 collection. Suits abstract or fantasy builds, RP, and good for freebuilds like any slate edition is.
EDIT: Planning a white wine edition soon. :3

Modification Help / Manual Fog Color Change [Solved]

Trying to change fog color in a slate edit.

fogColor = "0.800000 0.800000 0.800000 0.800000";

What kind of color values are these? I want to change it to a darkish red (maroon).

cooldude is the guy who was the LcyGamma imposter. Since he was only really doing it since he liked my videos or whatever, I figured I'd just unban him and chat with him whenever. Just treat him like any other Blocklander.

We have had some interesting convos though. Above, is when he asked me what country I lived in. He believes New  Zealand is inside Australia, even claiming to know this as a fact. But he is only 9, bless him. :3

Off Topic / LcyGamma & Isar Drama: Its Over

I found Lcy on IRC. We chatted.

Turns out he went under a different name and yes, was at the New Years eve party. The ban list must have cleared by accident. He apologized for everything, and understood my perspective on the event.

Lcy unbanned me, and plans to unbann the others who had got caught up in Isar drama. He changed his server to "I'M NOT REAL" and admitted to the players that he was a fan.

Lcy now looks forward to becoming his own person and making his own projects, under his own username.

Hopefully he'll stick to his word. But he claims he is embarrassed, and is hoping for a new start.

Truce and Zack0Wack0 roll up on Mr. Mods AE server, which surprised us. Then they start rambling about Flaw stealing keys.

In my opinion, preposterous. I believe this is an act of slander. I used to trust Zack0 but now I'm wondering... I don't even believe what they are claiming is possible, and the code Zack0 provided... is that even actual code?

Drama / Isar Needs Your Help: Hunt For Save Leaker

The Isar Tower: Hunt For Save Leaker

On the 10th of Jan this year it was discovered that two people were hosting a leaked version of the Isar Tower. I discovered today on the Blockland.us server list the save was downloaded on the New Years eve party of Isar, as firework setups are outside the building. Only a handful of people visited my server, if you were there and have images please post them. It is important to find the save leaker, as I would like to ban them from my server.

While I am happy for people to save Isar and play with it, people taking it and hosting it destroys the project and causes hundreds of idiots to start IRCing me random crap about the server. This is slander and damages the small reputation I have left.

What Is Known:

• The stolen save has been hosted by Valid_ and GammerMunchy
• Users host as LcyGamma, a clever trick
• The builds are severely damaged, with missing bricks.
• The servers are often hosted as parties or say "(NO ADDONS)"
• People are quickly banned from the server
• The save was taken on new years eve, a party only a handful went to

Please post images or info you had. I'd like to find this person ASAP.

Help / Malloc error causing auth failure

malloc: *** error for object 0x15050a0: Non-aligned pointer being freed (2)

Keep getting this, typically about 30 minutes into a server. This results in authentication failures, where I disconnect from my own dedicated server with "Failed to verify your Blockland ID" or something. I have to restart BL to reconnect. Sometimes this will crash the server. Othertimes, everyone on the server gets an auth failure. Occasionally its just me.

It seems it always happens after the above malloc error.

Drama / Defining Bias

It has come to my attention people have started to accuse me and many others of bias inappropriately. This is not one single person, its many Blocklanders. Sometimes it happens in game. Sometimes it happens on the Blockland Bulletin blog. Sometimes I see people accuse each other of bias in topics. I think this word has started to be badly misused and Blocklanders need to have a hard think about what this means.

1 prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair : there was evidence of bias against foreign applicants | the bias toward younger people in recruitment | [in sing. ] a systematic bias in favor of the powerful.

It is not bias when somebody writes something you disagree with.

It is not bias when somebody refuses to agree with you.

It is not necessarily bias if somebody writes about someone or something in a negative way, if they have reasonable means of doing so.

It is not bias to have an opinion.

If somebody writes something focusing on someone, for example "Blockhead was caught stealing diamonds. Users are very angry with him. Blockhead has had a troublesome past. In 2008, he also stole gold.", this is not bias, so long as what is written is factual. A balanced article does not necessarily have to include something positive about Blockhead to be unbiased, if the main story is about his stealing.


I'll be interested in seeing if anyone else has been similar issues recently.

The Isar Showroom is a gallery taking up level 2 of the Isar Tower. It holds displays and showcases of in-game work, be they add-ons, artistic builds (statues, pixel art), or anything else you wish to showcase. Isar Tower gets visited by many many people eager to storm into the server, so your work will be displayed to an audience thats there waiting to be amazed.

Project Synopsis
The Blockland Bulletin (TBB) is built on the collective knowledge that the Blok Magazine project (2008) and Blockland On Air (2010) taught me.
It is designed to offer a quality journalistic perspective on Blockland current events. This concerns forum happenings from videos, to clans, to drama, to general information regarding add-ons, RTB, or Blockland in general. It also covers in-game events such as server stories, like New Years parties and other events.

This blog was built on the 7th of December 2010 and has been in trial up to January 1st 2011. The response to articles is growing, and the interest in reading the blog has been increasing steadily. I believe this may offer a better insight into the world we know as Blockland, and even surprise you with how in-depth some aspects of the game are.

This website is associated with AfterBlock and will be viewable from within the program. This will not compromise viewing via browsers, of course.


Contribution
At this stage I have no intention to add more authors.


Q&A

Do we really need a news source? Isn't the forum good enough?
While the forum is a good resource, it doesn't necessarily cover the information you need, and is less convenient when you are trying to inform yourself about recent happenings. The community is no doubt good for sharing and receiving information, but doesn't always cover an in-depth brown townysis of events.

How do I know what I am reading is factual and unbiased?
Like all good journalists, we do considerable research into our topic, and often contact the people involved to get better backgrounds on stories. We present the information we find. For those concerned, all interviews conducted are archived and quotes are written out word for word.
TBB does not tolerate bias, and will not write a story if it poses an extreme conflict of interest. News articles are kept separate from review and opinion.

I have a concern about the content published, what can I do?
TBB will receive and investigate all complaints, taking every message very seriously. Please contact Sheath on the forums.

What happened to Blockland On Air?
The Blockland On Air concept is going to be utilized by TBB, offering voice interviews when appropriate. TBB also publishes videos (filmed in-game) on IcyGamma's YouTube account.

Whether I should be angry at this or not, I'm getting really annoyed at seeing all of these topics that go a little something like this...

Hey I'm back, I left in v9. Its been ages! WOW so many versions? You might not remember me. Whats happened? Good addons / servers etc.

What is with this?
If you return, browse the forums and play the damn game. Nobody has a synopsis of every event that might interest you since you were gone. Frankly, does it even matter what happened? You weren't here, the only thing that will be of interest to you is game updates which are pretty damn obvious if you take 5 minutes out of your "busy" day to try the game.

It seems to me topics like are posted by people who don't want to know, but want to declare their return in hopes somebody will care.

I am developing a movie right now, I don't want to give much detail away, but its a Blockland drama / murder mystery-- more of a miniseries than a full blown movie. I am requiring builders at this stage. Things that need to be built.

Police Station (Exterior)
Generic Office Building (Interior and exterior)
Highway
Middle-class House (Interior and exterior, preferably with street)
