I am starting another series on my Youtube channel.

In this series I will talk to random Blockland players in a "call in" style where you can speak your mind, share a view, or just make a scene for the purpose of fun.

This has no relation to The Late Night Blockland Show, please post questions about that in its respective topic.

This is all in good nature. Offensive material will be "bleeped" and people who attempt to be inappropriate or highly offensive (racism, berating, slander about other players) will be banned and their voice call removed.

The chat may be long or short-- talk to me properly to get a good chunk. Bring a topic to talk about when you come.

You will be sitting in the general room until you are invited in by IcyGamma one at a time.

Playful trolling is fine, I expect some people to be rude and douchey-- just draw the line and keep it tasteful (within troll standards).

You don't have to talk about BL stuff, its your choice. And don't be shy, I don't bite.

I found a disc with a copy of Blockland v11. It has photos from 2008 and 2009 on it. Really excited, found all my old builds. :D

These were taken in v11 Mac. Has old builds and add-ons in it. Thought I'd share. These are not of great quality, I just snapped them for fun years back.

These aren't all, just some of the most interesting. Thought its a nice thing to look back on now it was 10 versions a go.

If you are curious about Blockland during 2009 here are photos. Who knows, you might be in them. Includes photos of Trader, Pandan, Reactor Worker, Zoneark, SeventhSandwich, MegaScience, Woodland_Creature, and others. Snaps of old add-ons, servers, and things people did for fun on servers.

Not many photos so feel free to post your own.

I was playing with environmental controls in the nice rev 1682 update, and I achieved a color / light scheme that reminded me of film noir movies. So I've made one. Also notice that the blockheads have animated mouths. :3

EDIT: As pointed out this is film noir inspired, but its rendered in red.

For some reason the asciiterror face seems to appear as a decal in his avatar window. I have never experienced this but I sometimes get the asciiterror face appearing as the mythbusters jamie face in my avatar window.

Anyone know why or had similar issues?

Drama / BuilderGuy -- Inciting Trolling Against Server

I'm making this drama as this was quite a severe case of anti-Glass sentiment that I think should be raised because of how aggressive the player was and how he was attempting to get players to attack a server. I believe this player may be an alt so it'd be nice if anyone could confirm as this was a heavy case of trolling.

BuilderGuy connected at Glass's Platforms server today. He immediately began saying that "this build was stolen" and that it was "stuff" and "why are you guys playing here".

He began to harass admins, saying they were "badmin furcigarettes" which was pretty odd. I  banned him for an hour.

His response was to spam me in RTB until being ignored.

He was then caught in RTB telling people he was "banned for saying hi" and that the admins were abusive. He posted more than once to go and "go to Glass's server and troll the forget out of them".

He has since continued to post that Glass and everyone associated with him are hackers. He was persistent in posting "troll the server" over and over for several minutes, in the RTB channel.


The issue

The Glass drama is a load of out of proportion baloney and people need to get over it. It is extremely disappointing to see people try to encourage "attack" on a server that many people enjoy. Even more so to make it a personal mission to offend and slander those people who try to help maintain that server for the players.

You may be thinking "maybe this guy is just a trolling alt". Whether this was an ironic trolling attempt or not, it is still  inciting people to upset the server which is pretty terrible.

I highly recommend people take caution when dealing with BuilderGuy. He seems to be focused on whining about Glass, but if he does it to Glass's server, he can do it to yours.

A man is in custody after allegedly shooting dead 14 people and wounding up to 50 others at a midnight screening of new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises in the US city of Denver, Colorado.

The youngest victim is reported to be a 3-month-old baby.

Reports suggest a figure in a gas mask opened fire at the showing in a mall in the suburb of Aurora and set off a smoke or tear gas bomb.

Initial police estimates were of about 50 injured. Ten people died at the scene and four in hospital.

Children are believed to be among the victims of the shooting. The premiere attracted throngs of families and young people, many dressed in Batman costumes.

A witness told local media he saw people covered in blood after the shooting.

"A cop came walking through the door holding a little girl in his arms, and she wasn't moving."

Another witness said he heard explosions and what sounded like a fully automatic weapon.

"It was more than 50 or 60 shots. I was just worried about getting out of there."

Wendy Post, who was waiting to be reunited with her daughter at a local high school following the shooting, said her daughter told her the shooting erupted just minutes after the film began.

"She saw the exit door open and something was thrown across the screen, and then shooting started," she told local NBC affiliate 9News television. "It was chaos."


One man told the NBC affiliate that he was in the adjacent theatre watching another screening of the Batman movie when he heard gunshots and the theatre filled with thick, choking smoke.


He saw bullets holes in the wall, and some people in his theatre were wounded: "I heard moaning...they were in pain.'

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said President Barack Obama was notified of the shooting by his Homeland Security Adviser, John Brennan.

A spokeswoman for Denver’s Swedish Medical Centre said three people had been admitted to that hospital with gunshot wounds and were in critical condition. Another hospital, Denver Health, had received six wounded, one of whom was in critical condition, spokeswoman Kalena Wilkinson said.

The suspect was found at the back of the theatre in a parking lot with a gas-mask, a rifle and a handgun, police spokesman Frank Fania said. "He did not resist, he did not put up a fight," he said.

The suspect was thought to be in his early 20s, Fania said. He was carrying a knife, a rifle, a handgun when arrested and one other gun was recovered from the theatre, he said. The gunman was also wearing a bulletproof vest.

Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said there was no evidence of a second gunman. Dozens of police were at the scene, and authorities had evacuated the area while they checked for explosive devices.

Police say the suspect told them he had explosives at his apartment building. That building has been evacuated.

The Late Night Blockland Show is a real-time TV-length interview & quiz show brought to you by British Blocklander's Aludane and IcyGamma.

Based off the podcast Blockland On Air, the show features a full half an hour of in-depth discussion to let you get to know more about players and community projects you are interested in. It is currently the most detailed interview programme for Blockland.

The show is compromised of different segments, starting with an interview covering the guests on-going projects (or whatever current events they are known for). This is followed by quizes and games revealing their thoughts on Blockland, other players, and what they get up to. The results are funny, interesting, and sometimes shocking.

You may decide to watch the show, or just listen to it while its in the background. Each episode features a breakdown of the material so you can skip to parts that interest you, as we appreciate not everyone may have time to watch the whole show (though we recommend it).

Magical "Mystery Box"

Episode 5 is the series 1 finale. IcyGamma and Aludane decide to try and find a Blocklander on Steam to "channel" into the studio via a magic box-- it goes badly. IcyGamma gets lost into the commentator box of a soccer game  while looking for a place to go for a piss. Aludane's attention gradually slips into pure destructive rage during a defiant Minegames.

Is it live? Is there an audience?
There is no audience. The show is filmed real-time, so while the interview is happening on TeamSpeak Aludane, the guest, and I are on the server being filmed. It is pre-recorded. The show is not is staged or faked, though we do prepare questions and quiz material in advance to prompt discussion.

Off Topic / How to plug in speakers? Need computer help!

Hai,

Need technical help. I have two internal speakers I salvaged from an old all-in-one computer. I have a motherboard with "front panel audio". The two speakers have black and red wires (two in each) and what looks like front panel connectors on the end.

How do I attach them? I'm working on my first build, using a budget Intel D525MW desktop board.

Can I attach them at all?

Would like some internal speakers as it suits what I am building.

I can't seem to connect to RTB and when I go to the website:

It returns nothing for me.

Is this just me? Anybody else noticed it? Not sure if I just got banned for some reasn or have Internet issues.

EDIT:  Seems I just successfully connected to RTB connect. Not sure what happened there though, couldn't connect for a while.

40 Minutes in 4 Minutes


Featuring Aludane and IcyGamma.

Built in 2010 as a public role play server, Isar Tower is nothing but a broken save in 2012.

Aludane and IcyGamma film themselves renovating floor 8 of Isar Tower, demolishing old apartments and rebuilding a new design.

This took 40 minutes. You'll see it in 4 minutes. We decided to film this after doing another floor, seemed like a good idea. I've seen only one other Blockland timelapse, and it was pwnsome.
