This is a great career opportunity. I could stay for family and friends, but I would regret not living my own life.

I'm not sure how being in a disciplined in a military environment is "living your life" but I agree it has positives. I just hope this is a helpful career move, and not something hasty.

Will you have access to the Internet very often? Would be nice to hear updates when the time comes.

again, can you explain how? you're still not providing me with a real reason besides your own personal opinions

Please don't be as ridiculous to suggest I must list every single instance where I've been disgusted with Fox news or what I'm saying isn't legitimate. Making up a set of impossible conditions is the ultimate fallacy.

Julian assange's "wikileaks" website reveals government secrets and military information that is supposed to remain confidential. the information he puts public about our military allows enemy terrorists to learn more and more about how to fight the US military so that they can kill more of our citizens. how is that not bad?

Terrorists this terrorists that. Your government uses that excuse for everything.

What he did was great in my opinion. Its the ultimate jab to freedom of information. But no, "free" and "democracy rich" America doesn't like it as it has implications for them. One guy on a show said he should be "illegally shot"-- what an American stereotype.

its hilarious how i keep seeing these comments about how illegitimate fox is yet nobody has any reasonable proof to explain why.

Everything I've ever seen on there is extremely biased and pre-pared. They have their own agenda that blatantly gets in the way. They don't tell the real story.

Have you seen the recent stuff about Julian Assange? All American media is bitching about him, saying he is a "traitor" (not sure how that works since he isn't American) and a, quote "Russian spy" end quote. Its ridiculous and stupid.

I haven't gone more than a week without seeing my friends or family. I'll be gone for at least a year before I get to visit anyone. Also, I'll basically miss the next four years of my six-year-old sister growing up.

Did you even think this through? :/

A user with a bad and sort-of good reputation. Mostly bad.

Thanks for adding absolutely nothing to this topic!

I've never liked South Park. I've watched it occasionally and found a few episodes amusing, but its humor derives from crude representations of celebrities, or disgusting / over the top themes. The show just annoys me.

There won't be a WWIII.

If anything it'll just be America causing war again because other countries aren't doing what it says. The nuclear testing is concerning, but America is too war happy.

I think the whole North Korea thing is getting blown out of proportion.

I wouldn't get your news from Fox of all places, thats the cheapest trash I've ever seen.

These comics...

... you feel raped after reading them. You went there for entertainment and finish reading them feeling used.

Didn't find them very funny. But I'm not sure how you can make them anything more than cheesy and boring for what it is. Not a fan of the campaigns idea, but if it helps people... whatever I guess.

Cool that yours got picked for the book though!

Dell is good but its expensive
Alienware is stuff from what I heard

Dell is awful. Alienware seems good but I've heard lots of bad things.

HP has never been great for me. But weirdly, Compaq has been the most affordable and reliable computer brand I've purchased, and the higher end Compaq computers are a great balance between hardware and price. I'm not sure enough people realize this.

Agree that Toshiba is good. Asus is great too.

Building your own computer isn't a very good option unless you are actively interested in doing so and confident enough to handle hardware.

I've never bought a desktop.

I've bought a couple of second hand old Macs to play around with, bought a desktop motherboard and done a "breadboard" sorta thing, and used many desktops. But whenever I've owned a computer I've gone for a laptop just because I like to move around the house and sit on couches when using computers.

If you want to game on it, a laptop is a tougher choice. It'll cost more, it'll need to be internally dusted a lot to keep the fans efficient, and you might need a cooling pad to make playing on it more comfortable. Otherwise you'll find the computer may shut down when it gets too hot.

Getting a desktop is cheaper, and more comfortable for gaming. Its also easier to upgrade a desktop if you wanted to. Of course, you'll need a desk and an office chair, and you'll be stuck in one place. I like moving my computers around, and I pay the price for it. I still get to play GTA IV and Blockland smoothly though. :3

I think its great that Bones has done that. Good for him, I hope it leads to great things.

Though I find it bonkers and I wouldn't encourage my friends to do it. I feel at this time in the world, being part of the military is serving the governments agenda rather than the "country". Especially as public opinion on wars current and recent is plummeting.

If you've learned a second language I think you'll find quite often grammar is learned by book, not by sound. It helps, but its not essential, especially if you are only writing it.

Eh, I can cut him a little slack. Those who don't pick up on language early on tend to find it much more difficult later in life, sometimes to the point where it is impossible for them to fully grasp it. I imagine it's even harder without ever hearing it, due to the inability to determine what sounds natural.

True it can be hard. But there are educational systems in place for teenagers and adults that help with that kind of thing.
