To sum up the whole topic :

You mean the direction in which the Apple & Microsoft discussion has turned. :I

I can appreciate the Zune plan might be good for people who absorb music like oxygen, but I'd bet for most people its more expensive using a monthly plan as opposed to a track by track basis.

Happeh birthday.

The music is soo much more important.

Well, that is your opinion. But Apple in no way made the audio playing functionality less to enable apps. They just added a new layer of features. If you don't want the apps, just get a cheaper audio based iPod. :I

We all have needs.

But in parliament!?!??

You're missing my point.  I'm saying that as of now, Apple's focus isn't music anymore.  Its apps.

I disagree that it shouldn't be this way.
Apple perfected selling music online. They took a portable audio device, and opened it up to alternative functionality. That is a good thing. You yourself mentioned the downside of Zune not having apps.

Just FYI this guy has reposted my suggestion exactly. This is not your idea, it was mine. :I

I was talking about this on a server in September. Heres my ideas for an earthquake mod.

- All buildings participating in the game are placed on earthquake mod baseplates
- At a random time in a mini, an earthquake occurs of a random magnitude and depth, i.e, 5.4 magnitude earthquake hits at 70km deep (you probably wouldn't feel it IRL, so in the mini nothing would happen but users would be alerted)
- If an earthquake big enough hits, all buildings on a earthquake mod baseplate have random bricks fakekilled. The bigger the earthquake, the more bricks fake kill. All players are tumbled.
- If you are hit by rubble, you are stuck and can not move, like in the zombie mod. A user must come and click you to health. Your voice chat is limited, and acts like a radio mod where only close people can hear.
- Afterwards, after shocks occur, that are a random amount but lower than the initial quake (for realism)
- Any water bricks now kill players, they are polluted. Additionally, a flood mod type concept could now come into play, where burst river banks or pipes flood the steets. Any people who are stuck and not saved drown, and thus lose.
- All survivors may help the hurt, or have to get to a safehouse. Those who get to a safehouse win the minigame.

How possible is this?

heres my idea

can it be made??

I see.
I also use my iPod for games and as a pocket computer over music.

6325
I agree.

6326
Mmm...

You buy the album if you want an album, nothing compares to having the disc and the artwork physically. But if you just want a single song, you buy the song. And that improves sales of their music.

You don't need an iPod.  You need a DS.

I sold my DS to buy an iPod. Apps are superior to DS games in my opinion. :/

6327
Oh my god you're more stupid than I thought if you pay for one song at a time on iTunes. Albums, bro, albums. It's how the artists meant for their art to be listened to. And anyways, it's 2011. Music is basically a secondary function of the iPod.

Actually artists use platforms like iTunes to break their music to the world, many appreciating legal online downloads. The artist must agree to having their music on iTunes or it wouldn't be there.

6328
Its a spambot.

6329
Zune has a hard time as well, because Apple pretty much defined portable music and online media downloads in last decade with their iPod, whether or not their product is a better audio device. But with a Zune, you lose the app store which I think is Apple's key in keeping the iPod fresh.

I eat milk for breakfast...without any nails.

I'll have you know that I stubbed my toe while watering my spice garden and I only cried for 20 minutes!
