tried to use blockland glass hosting but they don't work with steam users. spent countless hours trying to port forward but no results at all. server is dead until my router magically works or someone else has a hosting service

edit: been using port checker, tried to open 28000 in every different way but still not working. server stalled until this gets figured out

what kinda features can we expect beyond basic pvp/pve
so the main goal is finding these runes allowing you to unlock better classes / new areas. these classes will be a lot stronger than the starting ones, and will be able to start at different points on the island.  what balances this out is how massive the island is and how low the visible distance is. it's going to be rare to come across another player deep in the wilderness. I'm working on a dungeon/raid mode right now for endgame players that will allow them to group up and take on brick/event/bot bosses (sort of like Glados in the old portal build) and completing these dungeons will reward them with - well i haven't decided that yet

is anyone aware what breaks displaying variables with VCE?
I'm trying to use <var:pl:health> but it shows up with exactly that, not my health. Tried it using default addons only and it still won't work.
edit: fixed found a newer version of VCE

About

Swords of The North is a game of thrones inspired RPG focused on exploration, PvP, PvE, and loot. You have been shipped off to a unforgiving island in the far north as punishment for your crimes. The island is massive, and the further you venture into it the tougher the enemies will get. World PvP is enabled outside friendly towns, so in order to progress through you'll need to make alliances with other players. (Be careful who you trust). Find better armor and weapons deeper into the island. Collect gems found on monsters and in chests to upgrade your weapons. Take over a castle and spray anyone who comes near with arrows. Form a ruthless gang of bandits set to kill anyone in their way.

Names are hidden to allow players to blend into the environment, giving a big advantage to players who have camouflaged armor.
Take into consideration that the island is gigantic and it's easy to lose your way. If you're not paying attention to where you're going, you're probably not coming back.

Runes
Finding runes will allow you to unlock new classes. These runes are hidden across the island, but are very difficult to reach and usually guarded. You will keep these runes on death.

Classes

Starter
Hunter - Starts with light, camouflaged armor and a decent sword.
Archer - Starts with light armor, a bow, and 50 arrows.
Warrior - Starts with a sword and shield, and medium armor.

Tier I - Unlock with 6 runes
Heavy - Larger, slower character, starts with Battle Hammer. Able to crush enemies easily. Medium armor.
Knight - Great all around. Starts with Zweihander and medium armor.
Assassin - Starts completely camouflaged with dual swords. Light armor.

Tier II - Coming Soon

i dont do too much with VCE however im quite sure no 'fixed' version has ever come out, and I haven't made any RPG related stuff and so i can't recommend anything there
here's all the major things i think you'll be interested in, from the top of my head at the moment:

Overlapping small bricks, coupled with the normal small bricks you can do some very detailed builds
NEW DUPLICATOR - easily the most fantastic overhaul in building on blockland, with all of it's amazing features in the forum topic.
Environment zones - multiple environments in one map! one area of the world can be night-time, the other could be day-time! (requires DLL injection, instructions are in forum topic)
Make Eventing Great Again - huge overhaul on the event menu, adding in a bunch of new features and shortcuts!
a recent brick add-on: foliage brickpack

there are countless add-ons i've missed, but I think these should be the most important ones

i never knew they were broken?you'll have to give more detail - the default bots shouldn't be broken unless you have a conflicting add-onyou'll have to state when you left so we can tell exactly what add-ons have come out since you left

i left about 3 years ago

i was using jes00's or something like thats events so is that still the same addon? there would be tons of glitches when i used them with stuff just randomly breaking

now that i think of it most of the troubles with bots were trying to use them with vce events for an rpg system, is there something out now that's pretty good for fighting monsters / collecting loot?

I just bought blockland again since I lost my old email and I want to start working on a project but I have some questions about some stuff that really got in the way last time -

  • is there a new variable events or a fixed version now?
  • are bots still broken and glitchy
  • any essential rpg server mods i should get?
  • any other useful new addons?

did anyone else think both sides seemed really small and obscure? like it was 30 resistance fighters vs maybe 200 order troops fighting for control of the galaxy? they didnt really have any shots showing the size or power of the order. maybe they wanted it that way idk

This sounds awesome man, good work. I love it when I see someone here putting a lot of effort into a larger project. will have to revisit this a couple times to soak it all in. edit: yea man this is A+ material all the way through. some great, intense guitar parts as well as more laid back synth sections, and it all works together so cohesively. I love this
