I'm always puzzled to see Americans expose themselves to the stufftiest possible country music then turn around and call their nation's folk music bad. no, y'all are just plebs.
i've grown up with country music playing all the time and a lot of it is like nails on a chalkboard for me; just reminds me of sitting in the car for hours with somber, emotionless singing. i do like some country-pop. tbqh i like brad paisley. decent writer and a damn good guitar player. people just refuse to go out of their comfort zone sometimes and would rather call songs stuffty than give them an unbiased chance.
