Sonic 06 had the potential to be an awesome game. You can tell that they had a lot of good ideas. Instead though, it was rushed, and then Sonic games fell into stuff for the next few years.

who could forget awesome ideas like the desert ball puzzle and having giant, empty open areas to run through at a snail's pace, or the magnificent amy, who literally only exists to be the game's useless character
seriously, the reason that sonic 06 is bad isn't just because it was rushed. it's because of horrible design choices.
the game would still be bad even if it was completely devoid of glitches, because there is nothing "glitchy" about not being able to control your character in the slightest if you're going too fast. there is nothing glitchy about having your momentum cancelled every time you do a double jump. there is nothing glitchy about having a ball puzzle that some people got stuck on for over an hour. there is nothing glitchy about boring fighting sections with enemies that have humongous health bars. there is nothing glitchy about making you do 3 horrible missions and then not autosaving before making you enter a really difficult level.
everything about this game except the soundtrack is absolute
stuff. they didn't have any good ideas at all.
