Vocals of metal are an acquired taste. Bands such as Judas Preist take a while to get used to.
Rob Halfords actually has a good voice. And the singing in Priest isn't that different from "ordinary" vocals, such as Brian Johnson from AC/DC.

But I agree that many other metal vocals, especially in death/black metal, require time some time to get used to. I didn't like Dave Mustaine's and Alexi Laiho's vocal to begin with, now I love them both :)

depends who it is, but it almost anything is likely better than what can be described most accurately as "screeching noises."
well, if we put vocals aside, there is no way you can say that rap is better than metal. But the vocals is something you have to get used to, i guess...

Thats a matter of opinion good sir. In Flames and Amon Amarth are Melo Death pioneers, a totally different sub-genre of metal.

<3 Sweden.
In Flames may be melo metal, but Amon Amarth is not. They're... uhm... viking metal? (is there even such a genre?)
As for melodic death metal, I prefer Children of Bodom. But that's just a matter of taste.

it's hours of terrible ear raping noise.
Haha.. No
What's your definition of non ear raping noise? If you say rap, I'm gonna punch you through your monitor.

Thanks. Now please tell me, which of these two do you like better
Disconnect or Dread and the Fugitive Mind?
Definately "Dread and the Fugitive Mind". The riff is much cooler, and the breakdown is good. The solo is also quite good.
But I'm generally not a big fan of "The System Has Failed" and "The World Needs a Hero". They went through a hard period there, but luckily they've become much better in recent years.

also
sounds like a terrible idea.
uhm, what?

I voted 1, cause of the nostalgia. I've spent hours playing that one. It must have been the best game when it came out, by far. The AI was kinda smart (I still haven't beaten it on the hardest difficulty :P) I would always get crushed when the enemy discovered gunpowder.
Also, the "Build-your-own-palace"-thing was neat.

some videos might be saying that jupiter will be our second sun or whatever,
Go back to school, boy. That doesnt make any sense at all. Jupiter is nowhere big and dense enough to become a sun.

Nice concept, but I don't like the execution.
Yes, I know it's WIP, but still. The buildings don't look very appealing to me. But maybe I'm mistaken and it's going to be awesome.

Panteras earlier stuff was pretty cool too. But that's more 90's.

no Amon Amarth or In Flames? no thanks.
Not part of the Big Four. Not even thrash metal.

And I agree with Joker, Metallica don't sound as good as they used to. Unlike Megadeth, who I think sound even better than in the early days (it probably helps that they're not wasted 95% of the time anymore)

I know I'm late, but the Big 4 is a concert with the 4 gods of Metal.
Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. All at one concert. I just got the DVD today at Target and Jesus h. Christ it is awesome. Discuss Big 4 and or the featured metal bands.
I own the DVD and it is awesome. Have watched it 3 times already (entire thing). I'm not a particularly big fan of Slayer and Anthrax, but their performances were okay. But as a diehard Megadeth fan, i must say: HOLY stuff that setlist was epic!! Same goes for Metallica.
I wish I was there :/

Wasn't this supposed to be done on sunday?
Skill: "I'm going to finish this during the weekend"
Me: "But you have all interior left, that's gonna take a while"
Skill: "Meh, interior is easy. I'm gonna finish this quick"
Or something like that

:P
jk, take your time.

How much did that cost?
The guitar? If I remember right, I payed about 500 $ a pack containing the guitar, a small Laney 15W amp, cable, strings and a tuner.

I've searched the net and see that you can get guitar packs for less money than that, especially if you order online and in the US. Norway is an expensive country :/
