Had a couple of rounds as co-pilot in the attack helicopter earlier today. It was tons of fun. With a skilled pilot, those things rip everything to shreds. You know the enemy want you dead when they designate an entire squad to kamikaze ram you out of the sky :P

General Discussion / Re: If blockland had a theme song...
« on: March 11, 2013, 07:39:12 PM »
I want to blurt out classical music pieces.

1.) Toccata And Fugue In D Mino

2.) Also Sprach Zarathustra

3.) Beethoven's 5th symphony

4.) Orpheus In The Underworld: Infernal Galop

5.) 1812 Overture
How do those relate to Blockland? And why are all of them "grand" and/or "sad"?
If that is what Blockland is, then this is the ultimate theme song of all time:
Verdi - Dies Irae from Requiem

i have to ask though; how good are the computers for each of the members that worked on the projects, because i just can't see my laptop handling 256000 bricks, and i'm not sure what other computers can.

The computer I used at the time was so horrible, you wouldn't even believe it. I couldn't even spend 1 minute in Seattle without my fps dropping to below 0, my internal laptop graphics screaming in pain, everything overheating and finally resulting in a BSOD. It's not even a joke. Ask Sylvanor.

Slight bump

Dunno if you guys have seen this, but these guys are playing Grand Bazaar at night, and it looked super nice.

That looks so confusing. Very cool, but confusing.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Game Mode Idea - Constructor
« on: March 10, 2013, 06:57:07 PM »
Very cool idea!

Will the workers be limited to placing bricks at their correct locations (models can be constructed by "trail and error"), or can they place bricks freely (much harder to get it exactly right)?

I'm thinking about what criteria the builds must fullfill. They should be quite large, so that different parts of the build can be built simultaneously without the builders getting in each others ways. The builds should also be simple to build (no "random" brickspam), so the foreman can actually guide the workers effectively. Builds such as Fort Papa come into mind.

Edit: Another idea! How about this: The build that each team must build was previously built by the opposite team. Before the round starts, each team gets 10-15 minutes to design a build that the opposite team must build during the following round. Sure, there would be lots of snakees and other crap. But if the teams are serious about it, a lot of cool builds could be created this way.

How about the good old Mercedes Geländewagen?

Also, why not give the Kübelwagen a try? It would be perfect for WW2-type servers.

Build a whore house.
Brothel is the correct term.

@OP: Depends on what build styles you usually prefer. If you like futuristic stuff, build a modular moon base or a spaceship.
If you want something very simple, build a castle. Castles are easy to build. You don't have to spend much attention to the details, as long as you make the whole thing big. Sounds a bit weird, but thats the way it works for me.

Or you could build a cathedral. Okay, the suggestion might be a little biassed, as I'm a sucker for cathedrals. But they're actually quite easy to build as well. I could give you some tips if you want to build one.

If anyone knows any other songs like these, you should tell me :o
They both reminded me of prog rock. You might wanna check out some Pink Floyd or early Porcupine Tree.
