Lol or you can do it that way... but win7 does let you open any program just by typing its name in the search box... its epic like that. Like just type paint really quick and hit enter and theres paint all up in ur face.

another way you can check on what is eating up ur usage going to start and in the search box type "Resource Monitor" without the quotes. The process using the most will be first on the list and work your way down with anything u think that looks unfamiliar or think should not be running. Google what u think is weird to see what program is associated with it.

If i might jump in here... Deleting just icons do not free up ram whatsoever. The only time an icon will use any ram is when you see it by your clock because obviously there is a program running in the background associated with that icon.
