Knowing how to sew your mate's dress shirt buttons back on is a pretty useful skill, fitting patches on the groin/knees of pants is also useful, as they'll inevitably wear out. Mind you, my stitching is horrible beyond buttons and duct tape stuff sewn together with fishing line.

Protip: Write your journal in cryptic abbreviated half-sentences, overuse punctuation, doodle a little and write worrying chemical synthesis proceedures amongst it. It then gains a chaotic order which is perfectly legible to you, but others are unlikely to comprehend it. It's like having your bedroom in a mess, but you know where everything is.

Whilst this topic is (relatively) alive, I'll just mention that I got through 100 carts 12-bore, 6 gauge shot through an over/under shotgun, and two bricks of .22lr through one of them replica .22 rimfire lever-actions. Didn't find any stray .22 shorts on the farm to shoot though, sadly.

Why did you go to your doctor, it's simply a matter of leaving a hot flannel on there until it softens up, then digging around with a needle or a scalpel and repeating this for however long it takes to heal up.
