A ps3 controller will work with a PC if you just connect it using the charging cable.  However, you need a program like DS3 to use it.
A wired xbox controller will work as well, but not a wireless one unless you buy a wireless gaming receiver for it.

On intel HD you will be able to run bf4 but at an unplayable framerate.  Add in the 760 though and you will be fine.

after about 7+ hours, i get short lasting burn marks on my legs with my laptop. Yes, im sure they are little burns, not laptop marks.
If it is an HP laptop, then that is just how they are unfortunately.

If you can tell that there's a bottleneck, then you should definitely upgrade. To what, I'm not sure, but socket AM3 is fairly mainstream and you should have plenty of options. Personally, I would recommend switching your motherboard as well to go to an intel processor, but that all depends on how much money you want to spend and how long you intend on keeping your computer

As someone who plays a lot of video games, I like big numbers and intel's i5-4440 has 3.1/3.3 gHz turbo compared to AMD's FX-4350 4.2 gHz for $80 less.  I understand that intel processors ourperform AMD processors at similar frequencies, but I don't know if I want to drop $200 for a 3.1 gHz processor + $100ish for a motherboard compared to what AMD offers.  What intel processor would you suggest pairing with a 760?

I'm just going to give this post one last bump to see if anyone has some input

Hey I'm wondering if it would be worth it for me to upgrade my current processor.
I am aware that my CPU is probably bottlenecking my GPU, although I'm not really sure how much and if an upgrade is worth the money.

Right now I have a slightly overclocked GTX 760

Any my processor is a relatively old Phenom II at 3.2 gHz (old enough to be discontinued apparently)

Realistically, how much would I benefit from upgrading, and to what?

Otherwise I can just make a new thread or something idk

Inflation at its very finest!

Inflation is when prices rise due to the purchasing power of a currency decreasing.  Bitcoins are an example of extreme deflation actually.

Your router is likely at fault.  Maybe it can only handle a certain number of devices.
I've had similar issues with my router randomly not putting certain devices through to the actual internet.

Modification Help / Re: Advanced GUI tutorial?

The best way to learn something with Programming/Designing is trial and error. Just practice by making other things.

Better is to take an existing gui and made some edits to it to try to understand how it works until you feel like you could recreate most of it on your own if you wanted.

For those of you who don't know how bitcoins work, your "wallet" that has all of your bitcoins in it consists of lots of numbers; these numbers are a good 150 digits long each and represent a block of bitcoins. In order to get bitcoins, you need these numbers. The only way to get these numbers is either through buying them off of someone else who has them, or to manually check every possible number until you find one that works. That is called bitcoin mining.

How are bitcoins traded then?  Once you find one of these bitcoin "numbers" and you want to use some of them to "buy" a real world good or service, are you just trusted to send that number over and "forget" it?  What prevents bitcoins from being duplicated without some central management to oversee which of these numbers belong to who?

The cpu stays well under 50 degrees Celsius even on stock cooling while playing games on high from what I can tell.

Modification Help / Re: BL version

Yes, this is what I mean. Server does not necessarily reject the connection, btw.

Well by default, theses are the arguments you have to work with:

function GameConnection::onConnectRequest(%client, %ip, %lan_name, %net, %clan_prefix, %clan_suffix, %password)

I am pretty darn sure the server will reject the connection in any except the most extreme cases, but if not you are probably out of luck.

He probably means from the server side.

Well it is either the same version as the server itself or the server should reject the connection.
