I've fixed the problem but I still need to work on something..
Whenever I leave the server, as the bricks are mine, the zombies reset and become standard bots.
Im gonna try and make the bricks all public to see if this changes anything. I also am fixing an error with the chemical plant, and adding more weapons around the factory

If you make them public, won't people be able to alter the build? Or not?

And....DOES THIS MEAN IT MIGHT BE UP AGAIN SOON?!?! (As selfish as it sounds)

The server is called 'The Blocking Dead's RPG'

I'll just use my server browser option "Players".

Stay in the house, Carl.

Lol.

Yeah, nice idea... but if you kill someone then its your fault really. Should be more careful with your weapons :)

True dat, bro.

Anyway, will the beta be up today?

I came up with the concept for the wanted mod, TomTom quickly whipped it up.
Forget the money system, I am gonna add that later, but at the moment it just makes you "wanted" when you kill someone, your name goes from green to red when you're wanted.
you can also view people who are wanted near you by typing /wanted

That makes sense. If somebody accidentally kills someone, then they can ask you to clear their name.

Still have to consider my example, though.

The bounty system is okay and they have thought a bit about it by making a "wanted"-poster in the safe area.
You can click this to see how you can view the wanted people.
It should display who is wanted (text-wise) when you click it, but this works as well.

As for how the bounty system works currently, it needs some tweaking.
Sometimes you can accidentally kill someone who is also attacked by a zombie horde (totally didn't happen to me :P) and then you immediately are marked.

Maybe warn the player first (when he shot and/or killed another player) and if he/she kills someone after that mark them?

Yeah, exactly. Making an actual working bounty system seems just too hard, in my opinion.

I agree; the poster is a great idea. To add to it, have an administrator moniter situations where somebody deliberatly "kills" someone so he can then modify the poster and place the killers name.

Although, you have to consider the communication aspect of it. If two people go off on whatever it is they're doing, and one murders the other for reasons unknown, then because nobody is around, and no form of long-distance communication is at hand, he could just lie when he gets back to camp that something horrific happened to ther other survivor. He'll eventually be caught, but in the the meantime, he'll have suspicion placed on him for a long time, even more if they were bitter rivals. It all adds up to more intense and mysterious roleplay.

Looks good already, and I haven't even been in.

The idea of currency and a bounty system kinda bugs me, but then again, I haven't been in.

Keep up the good work. ;)

EDIT: I just read lordicain's post. I agree with him. A suggestion that might fit what he is looking for is this: strip away the currency and the reward-part of the bounty system, but allow it to "mark" you down if you kill someone, that way it forces the killer to flee and become an nomad.

The currency just doesn't make sense because all of civilization has fallen, so currency is worthless. The only way of possessing items in a world like this is referring back to cultures centuries ago that used a bartering system.

Barting, to me, just makes more sense and better roleplay then having paper money that you can't really do anything with.

Since Furdle is taking over, has there been any progress made?

I don't mean to bump an old topic, but I was really looking forward to this new RP.
