im pretty sure its illegal to softmod some of the recent game systems
And what makes you think that? Sure it can void your warranty, but it's not illegal.

That's the hilariously difficult way to do it. Just install Minecraft Forge and put the optifine jar into the .minecraft/mods folder.

Forge also makes it easier to install other forge/modloader mods.

Exactly, I was speaking about myself, not others. Of course I know others use it, but I personally don't. I wasn't saying that as an excuse to not be in that class, but wondering how I myself would ever apply it to my career.
Schools don't usually take student's individual career-related wishes before college or high school, and basically just loop everyone under the same "learn everything just to be sure" umbrella.

Apparently dan200 and MinecraftEDU collaborated together to create a mod called qCraft, which introduces quantum physics into minecraft.

This entire mod is what the forget.

i still dont see why the expectation of pc use is apparently everyone will own touch screen monitors.

there is a reason its used on handheld devices, because our hands are already there. the fad for reaching across your desk every 2 seconds to do something will never catch on.
what they should have done is released windows 7, touch edition
or tablet/phone edition. or something.

and every version of windows released could just have the sister version released as well.
From personal experience, W8 actually works way better with a mouse and keyboard than with a touch screen. The only thing is that the line between the two has been completely blurred, and the operating system can be used on both types of devices with little to no problems.

The third issue that I have with is that Windows 8 is just 7, but in tablet form with some slightly faster start up speeds.
Wasn't you that just said in that very post:
Nothing wrong with having more than one way to access something on a computer.

The tablet interface is simply another alternative way of using the computer. They're not forcing people to use tablets at all. They've made the interface and the entire operating system itself completely usable (moreso than on tablets, I might say) for desktop computers.

They're giving people more options. A big part of why touch interfaces exist is because they're more convenient, e.g. if you're standing in line at some place, you're probably not going to be able to use a laptop without some convoluted shoulder laptop holder thing, and you may as well just forget a portable desktop computer.

Touch interfaces allow you to only need one component to do the same amount of operations you would with a mouse and keyboard, only in many more places than at home, or stationary somewhere else. This is technology advancing forward, technology becoming more accessible.

It's not a piece of stuff because you don't need it; it's not a piece of stuff because it's not good for gaming, and it's not a piece of stuff because an option available that isn't good for gaming is included.

It's great, because Windows actually managed to create one, singular operating system that would work on almost every modern device available.

A smart person is a geek. Nasoa's definition was correct. Don't confuse the two.
