The simplest thing you can do is make written / drawn concepts for your ideas. For example, if you were looking to make a video game with a story and such, you might write a storyboard for the opening sequence, make a list of possible game mechanics, draw out levels on paper, etc.

IIRC, according to the concept of undo/redo in general, your "stored undos" would be cleared if you were to do another action after undoing. For example, if you placed two bricks, deleted both of them and placed another one, you shouldn't be able to redo. That would fix the issue of bricks inside bricks, I'd imagine.

The credit is deserved on both sides. Without the designers, there would be no ideas, and without coders, no product would be made. It's just another "chicken or egg" scenario.
And yeah, as BTB, ultimax and others have already stated, the only ones being richards are the ones that actually being showoffs about it, and you only notice and dislike those being showoffs about it.
