Creativity / Who would be a better evil genius type villian?

I'm making a plot for something I'm working on and I plan to have a main antagonist that's an evil genius kind of character. I'm thinking of maybe making it one of the developers. So which sounds like a better fit-

Kompressor - aka Lord of darkness, he destroyed the bedroom and now wants to destroy the rest of Blockland

Mocheeze - The balloon accident was a cover up for his real plans. He's been alive and has not been idle

Rotondo - Rotondo is everyone, everyone is a robot under his control

Which sounds like it would give me more to work with/would be a more funny reference?

Modification Help / How do I include prints in a gamemode?

I've been making a gamemode for a while now and I want to include all the needed files and such inside the gamemode folder. So far it's worked fine, but at one point after testing the game so far, I got booted back to the main menu with a popup that said something like "VCE should be added to the Gamemode.txt." But I never got that kind of message when I was missing any other add-ons, I just got the usual red text underneath the gamemode description. And I don't think the build or anything even used VCE in the first place
     And to make matters worse, I tried including VCE in the gamemode files to get rid of it, but the only way to get rid of the popup is if I added VCE to the required add-ons list in the gamemode.txt, which kind of ruins the whole idea of including all the files with the gamemode.

Alrighty, that problem is fixed. But now I have another question, and as long as I have this topic up I might as well post it here-

How would I include a print inside a gamemode? For most add-ons I know I just unzip it into a folder inside the gamemode and execute the server.cs, but prints don't exactly have server.cs's, and the ones that do are blank.

Someone else just posted a request topic for this and locked it because the multi-tool exists, but I think there should be something separate

I don't use the multi-tool for several reasons-
  • It has all sorts of features I don't really care for and I don't want to get it just for the fill-printer feature
  • I've never seen anybody else using it on their servers and I have no idea if it's buggy or if it conflicts with other add-ons or if it even works
  • I'd have to constantly switch modes to get it to work the way I want it to

Off Topic / Tim Tang Test

So I've just recently discovered the Tim Tang Test.

It's apparently 200 'levels' of riddles which have yet to all be solved by anybody. It seems really interesting, although I've only gotten to level 4..

I'd really like to talk to others about this but at the same time the user agreement makes it very difficult

Games / What would your dream game be?

There's a lot of good games out there, but there are so many things I wish gaming companies would make that haven't been done

Now when I say "dream game," I don't mean unrealistic, super expensive, futuristic games that have everything to your specifications. I mean games that can actually happen that you would love to see, but haven't and probably won't.

For me those games are one's like
Battlefront III - which almost happened, but didn't,
Some more updated sequel to Spore with better functionality and multiplayer,
Super Smash Bros. 4,
Some in depth, up to date RPG that is still kept G-rated and lacks 'spells' and such

Help / Elevator events base rendering

When making an elevator, I know that when you add bricks and such it is added as an event- elev_addpart. But when you change the rendering of the elevator itself- the base/roof, it doesn't add or change any events.
     Normally with elevators I save them with my build by creating the elevator with onbrickloaded. However since the rendering doesn't save as an event or anything, it will always be created with its rendering on. Is there any way to fix that right now?

Drama / "edgy" insult is irritating

I've never made a drama before, but this has irritated me enough that I think it should be addressed

I saw someone in off-topic call someone edgy or something a few days ago and now I'm seeing it all over the place

Stop being edgy, it's not cool.
Idc if you do or not, this isnt a topic on "omg your soo coo and edgy" or similar stuff like that. (includes "Cancer omg")

People are not incapable of getting upset at things they see on the internet, if you're insulting or offending then people are going to get upset. It's not because they're just some stupid, dramatic teenager trying to be "edgy"

Well right after Marble got banned and locked his add-on topic, I realized that onbotdamaged completely breaks death. Death by Self Delete, fall damage, or anything else. Would anybody mind trying to fix it? I don't need it for anything specific at the moment, but it could come in handy in the future

General Discussion / Events that don't seem to be working right

Before I say anything- I'm not 100% sure where this belongs. I figured 'help' was more for when the game itself isn't working right, and this isn't coding, so I thought I'd put it here. I'll get more replies here anyways

So I'm working on a project and for it to work how I want it to, I need certain events to work right.

I want this bot, when activated, to say something and then charge at the player. Once the bot gets to you, the screen goes black and you wake up in this other area. However I keep running into a bunch of problems..

Sometimes the magic-darkness which I'm using for the screen effect doesn't work. I assume this is because of minigame settings
Sometimes setplayertransform decides not to do anything for some reason
Sometimes the bot randomly decides to get up and start charging towards me despite never being activated

I'm just having a heap load of issues. Can someone take a look and see what I might be doing wrong?
Here are the required 4 events (onbottouched, setplayertransform, playerfollow, and onbrickloaded just to make sure things don't break), elemental spells for the screen effect, and the savefile

Modification Help / /hug and then putting arms down again

For something I'm making I wanted to use Nexus' command gui to make a player /hug and then put its arms down again. Can someone help me with that?

I'll put /hug in as the command to use when the key is pushed, but I need something to make the player stop playing the animation as a separate line of code for when I release the key

Modification Help / Can't get an add-on to work in a gamemode (solved)

I'm working on a gamemode, and don't want to have a lot of required add-ons that people have to download just to play my one gamemode. So I want to include them inside the gamemode

From what I've heard from people all I need to do is extract the zip folder of the add-on I want enabled into a subfolder inside the gamemode. Then in the gamemode's server.cs I put something like

The gamemode itself works fine, but for whatever reason the add-on will not work. I've also tried this with weapon_elementalspells, with the path beginning with add-ons rather than the subfolder, and with the code

Anyways, I'd like some events to switch the enviroment settings around.

Before you say it, yes this could be very abusable. But it would work wonders for gamemodes- to make it look like you've gone to a different area maybe.

Suggestions & Requests / including add-ons in gamemodes

So I know it's possible to include add-ons inside a gamemode so that you don't have to download a billion different files just to get one gamemode to work. But I don't have any idea how to do it

Would someone mind making some sort of short tutorial or something? I figured this belonged here more than help because I'm asking for someone to make some sort of topic, maybe in modification discussion, teaching how to do this, sort of like some of the other reference topics in there.

However I don't have much scripting knowledge. I know this is most likely more than just simply packaging things right, and I would normally need some scripting knowledge to do this.
But maybe someone could at least write out the needed code and such to include a mod inside a gamemode sort of like a template, where I would fill in the blanks with the names of certain files and that sort of thing.

I want this because I'm making my own gamemode and it may end up needing quite a few files to work right, and I really don't want to have a huge list of required add-ons. Because then people just won't download it.
