Help / Hatmod causing massive lag?
« on: August 21, 2012, 08:52:34 PM »
I was having a lot of lag from seemingly nowhere, and I finally remembered to type trace into the console. I saw the word hat a lot so I'm just assuming it could be the hat mod. lol here's the console log

Whelp, cineblock is closing down. Looks like this is the only film-making clan left.
Just watch, this is going to be a repeat of my experience with eventing clans. I try to join sheath's clan (but I got denied, that didn't happen in this case) and then I joined a secondary eventing clan. The first closes and then the second shortly after, ASDF

ASDF

This has happened to at least 3 different clans now. I join and not even a month later they close. >.<
I think I'm just going to probably give up on clans for a while, they never seem to work out.

Besides, I was a little disappointed in one of the reasons for closing being the lack of motivation and activity, since I was just barley trying to introduce a project and get some help with it. :(

I don't know a lot of the guys you are mentioning, or maybe I just don't pay attention. But I'd go with Freeze or Mega-Bear

I'd love to help, editing this would be cool unless that job is already filled.
I think cucumber said he was planning on it, but recently he's been occupied with other projects and such. So if you'd like to do the editing, I'd really appreciate it!
But as far as the rest goes- tomorrow I think I'll start a server and if any of you guys want to help out, act, film, build, give suggestions for the script, any and all help would be appreciated.

Sony Vegas PLATINUM.

I didn't even loving pirate it
isn't hd platinum just a nicer version of movie studio?
Also that seems to be the only kind I can find, I can't find the supposed 60 dollar non-hd version. Since that might be the only one I can afford XD

What really stinks is when you try out the crouch/sit moonwalk glitch and people stare at you funny

No, I'm stuck with a strange key set I mapped out years ago, back in alpha, where I decided I liked up-down-left-right because it was easy to remember and I had never played a game that used w-a-s-d. In that process, jet got mapped to right control, and it kinda stuck. I also remapped all my build keys to Shift+Up/Down/Left/Right/;/. and Alt+Left/Right to rotate.
there's a pretty interesting setup, I'm kind of tempted to try out the arrow keys/crt for movement now

Well it's been four hours since I posted this, no comments, thoughts, anything? I can give it a go alone if nobody wants to help, but I figured Cineblock was in need of a project. And it'd probably just look better if I had some help too

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Ramped water?
« on: August 20, 2012, 09:04:02 PM »
I know you can't make slanted physical zones, but can they be any shape other than a quadrilateral? If they can then why don't you just make the zone like this-

zone      __   water
            |   /
         --   /
        |    /
     --    /
   |      /
--      /

You could just make the zone stair-like in shape and follow along the slope

For a long time I've been stuck with variants of windows movie maker, sometime (whenever I get some money) I'm going to want to get a better program. But I'm slowly figuring out that there's a lot of options out there, so what do you guys think? Which program is the best? And by best I mean in terms of cost, ease of use, options and effects, etc.

You're over brown townyzing it too much. The only reason why I did the "keep on smiling thing" is because I say that at the end of all of my videos, so I just thought of that way to throw it in there. The whole "Indestructible" thing will be explained when I make the video of the back story to this.
Well I might be over brown townyzing a little, but I also noticed one other thing-
I think the line explaining the bomb in the bell wasn't executed very well. I didn't hear what the line was exactly the first time I watched, but I didn't feel like rewinding. But the 2nd time around I heard the entire line and it sounded kind of silly.
They put a bomb in the bell, nobody knows why, there's just kind of a bomb there. And nobody thought to remove it. I know it might seem necessary, but explaining that "if you pull the string it will explode," also sounds a little odd. I don't know how I could have made it better- so I don't blame you, but it doesn't sound right. That's probably one of the things that made reactor worker think the video was funny, that just seems like a very random thing to say - "They put a bomb in the bell, dunno why, but I think I'll kill myself with it."

But remember I'm trying to give constructive criticism. These are all little things that add up, but overall I still think the video is alright.

In my town there's this gas station that has this ugly brick wall where the bricks are stacked in straight columns instead of having each row be off center from the last one. Every time I see it I think it's spammy.
LOL
