I was banned for the same reason as you, twice. I killed two people who I thought were mafia, with evidence that they were (backstabbing and killing people). The admins happen to only witness the side of innocents killing suspects, not what the innocent witnessed that led to them killing the suspect in the first place.
I know rules are rules, but like Ike said the admins have a really firm grip on the Rule 2 excuse (no RDMing) on the server. Because of this, innocents can't defend themselves. An adapted point of the Mafia Mystery gamemode is to kill before being killed. Because the mafia players have one objective and that is to kill you, so you have to hunt them down and kill them first.
