Modification Help / [Recruiting] Formula 1 car
« on: November 09, 2015, 08:24:08 AM »
Hi all,

I've always wanted to incorporate F1 racing into Blockland. I've decided, since I've recently picked up Blender again, to go ahead and model an F1 car, as such.

I can't code to save my life though, much less incorporate things like sounds and proper acceleration, so it'd be really neato if I could get help from a coder. PM me or reply if you're interested.

I can help with the animations and raytraced projectiles.
Can I see some of your previous work, if possible? I'm not sure where to look.

Here are some OGG loops for a radiation detector. There are 6 in total, from least to most intense.

Ahah, thank you, I'm trying to get them in Blockland as a weapon pack but alas no coders or animators appear available

Not black and white tile, of course. But wouldn't wood absorb water and cause damage.
People do have wooden bathroom floors.

Aw, stuff, this brought me back to the days when I would try to build massive luxury aeroplanes. Maybe we should try that together?

Loving those first two shots, by the way.

Love the cozy style, are you planning to make like a modular house with everything in a seperate 16x16 room?
Probably not, but there's an idea.

With my obsession with interiors I might just make this some underground secret base thing.

Modification Help / Re: Looking for a scripter/coder
« on: November 06, 2015, 10:44:47 PM »
Although I won't be able to provide a coder for you, might I suggest looking at example scripts and experimenting a bit?
Bushido's Tier+Tactical weapon pack includes an ammo pickup system, not well documented, but it still works.
Rykuta made some support files waaaaay back for the exact purpose of helping random people create weapons with ease.

The support files can be downloaded from here and are commented well enough for anybody to understand. There's also an example gun file included in the support package that shows you the format that can be followed.

Rykuta also made some assets and datablocks that basically makes it so much easier to write more guns, since you don't have to make the datablocks yourself. Link here.
I've done basic weapon implementation in the game before, but I feel it's better if an experienced coder did the whole thing instead since they'd know 100% of what's going on anyway. I wouldn't want to make their job harder by screwing something up in syntax or organisation.

I've sent you a PM in case you didn't get it.

That is pretty nice, I'd just suggest trying to do some better lighting on the roof, it looks kinda dark.
I didn't really know how to make the ceiling lights look right, I need to try building them more often.

Shower seems a bit roomy though.
Luxury!

Something tells me exteriors are kinda a big problem for ya.
Shshhh! Shhh. Don't tell them.

Also whats the scale of the rooms, studwise?
Both the bathroom and bedroom are built on 16x16 baseplates each.

I've just posted this here because I want to receive feedback for my building technique. So here's a bedroom and bathroom.

Rating is fine, but I'd prefer critique instead.
