Double post, but I here I'll compile a list of things you can use to drill through that rock-hard skull of your dad's.

Why do you want a Windows computer?
It's a good gaming platform.

     How so?
Most of the games are made for Windows, so there's a lot more fun involved.

          Can't you use an emulator?
Emulators don't always work, and besides, the hardware Apple throws in their computers are usually
          underpowered old wrecks.

There's a reason Apple prices them high, you know.
Yes, but not because they're that powerful. Apple's hardware is expensive because the under-
powered, old hardware they chose to put in their computers are low on supply. As you know,
               low supply make prices rise.

     But it'll crash so easily!
A vast majority of all hangs, problems and BSODs are from user tampering. So long as I know what I'm
doing, it won't be a problem for me.

Why would anyone want to waste time installing useless crap when you can get an out-of-the-box
         Mac?

Why was I sent to school when I could have an easier job of sitting around the house doing nothing?

Macs are easier to use, though.
They're not that hard to use, really. A lot of content on the internet are done by experts who dig into
the deep canyons of the computer performing complicated tasks. The shear amount of these videos and
guides gave Windows the "hard to use" element.

     But they're expensive as hell!
No they aren't. Apple can overprice their stuff as much as x4. Besides, a custom-built Windows computer can
be upgraded part-by-part, unlike Macs where they have all the stuff locked into a case so that they will earn
more money 'cause your MacBook is out of date, thus making you spend more money buying a new one.

$1300? US? Man, you're gonna have a supercomputer running in your house.

I'm no expert, but:
-The case shouldn't be too much of a concern for now. I have a case from 2001 and it still manages to fit my giant AMD 6850 without a hitch. If you want a clear case just drill a hole for a plexiglass panel to slide into. Economical ideas!
-LED-backlit widescreen FTW. If it doesn't suit your fancy try an Acer monitor.
-If you have enough money to spare (durhurhur I wonder how), try adding in an SSD. These things can usually hold a good 200GB or more, perfect to run applications since they're faster than a regular HDD.
-Windows Home Premium 64-bit, I've heard, is a good choice. 64-bit computers can handle more memory than 32-bit computers. You might run into a couple compatability issues but a quick Google search shouldn't be too much of a problem. If you have more cash left you might want to get something like Ultimate.
-If you can afford it, get a motherboard that supports two GFX cards, then get two GFX cards. Instant win.
-A USB hub would be nice.

Remember,

Off Topic / Re: Blonde Jokes
« on: October 15, 2011, 06:22:02 AM »
They are jokes based on how blondes are stupid people.

e.g. A black-haired, brunette and blonde person are escaping the police. With nowhere else to go, they find three large empty sacks amidst a pile. They all hide in their own sack.
When they hear the police coming, the black-haired person goes, "meow". The police think it's just a cat.
Hearing the success of the black-haired person, the brunette person goes, "woof!". The police think it's just a dog.
Hearing the success of the other two people, the blonde goes, "PO-TA-TO".
