yes, it would be great, but theyll be perfectly 100% fine without it.
youre dumb. 1- if theyre learning computer programming they obviously already have access to a computer. you dont learn how to build a racecar before you get your driver's license. 2- no stuff.
You DO need a car before your license.  And how would you know that they would have a computer already?

oh, if we're being THEORETICAL then this is loving great! i totally love it!
..the whole problem was i can't see it being PRACTICALLY successful. hopefully im wrong, but meh.
I can see it, even with the current use, it's a great cause.  It's something kids should learn.
read the thread handicap. im fine with concept - cheap computer, great! problem is that it will never get to people that have an actual need for it. its planned to be used to teach kids computer programming. if theyre learning computer programming they have no NEED for something like this, its just cool
No need?!  It would be great.  a small easy to use computer is a dream.  It's like an awesome ti-84 or whatever.

you guys are kinda handicapped anyway, it says they're planning on using it to teach kids computer programming. use in developing countries is a possibility which means it won't happen ever.
lol the point was that it'll never get to africa in the first place, learn to read
They're starting small.  That's a good thing.  I'm being theoretical here.

oh i agree thatd be wonderful! however these guys need to be backed by like, an actual company before they'll be able to export their outdated hardware to africa.
YES BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN loving HAVE COMPUTERS CARE ABOUT HOW UP TO DATE THEIR HARDWARE IS.

most of the use would likely come from being able to apply for jobs online or do craigslist ads to sell stuff off or something, so it does kinda need internet
I'm thinking this would work well somewhere like africa to get super cheap computer labs for them.
(if youre really too poor for a phone or computer they have computers to use at public libraries), etc
THAT'S THE loving POINT.  WHY NOT PROVIDE SOMEONE A COMPUTER THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO TRAVEL TO TO USE, ALSO, SOME PEOPLE DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO THAT, YOU KNOW, OTHER COUNTRIES.

Still want to know why op lied about running q3
But it DOES run Q3.
i dont  give a forget, i never said it was cheaper than these pieces of stuff lol. i said smartphones were 10x as useful, obviously they're a bit more expensive but everyone pays for and has a phone anyway.
Hey, did you know that not everyone can afford that?  Have you heard of poor people?  I'm astonished that you're so damn thick and spoiled.
not to mention, how the hell do you connect it to the internet? computer/device of any sort = completely useless without internet

(might have said this on the website or whatever i didnt bother to read much)
It has Ethernet ports (oh, that's the $35 version).  And computers do more than browse the web.  They can store data, calculate things, they're not just for playing stuff online and browsing research.

It just still confuses me, why would Valve want to do that?
They're valve, they do whatever the forget they want.

Yes, it was.  But I was talking about why Valve, of all things, is making a Dota sequel.

Imagine Blizzard working on a branch off of Portal or something.
Then my post still stands.  They hired icefrog and all to help out, it's looking to be pretty fun.

Were you meaning the intro or game?  I read the post below yours first and assumed it was about the game itself.

And because I don't want to download this, the servers hosting it become worthless to me. Great.
I don't like that feature.
Well too bad, it's the only way you can do it.  stop whining and just download it if you want to play.
