Games / NeonXSZ - We outta early access!

I would do a more professional-looking OP for this game because it really deserves one, but I'm pretty tired right now and won't bother, but I might edit it later.



Not enough people here (or in general) know about this game at all, and it deserves more attention.
NeonXSZ (pronounced neon excesses) is an indie singleplayer FPS 6DOF open-world game with ai acting as other players and does many things others would, so it's an MMO without the multiplayer bit. Massively Singleplayer Offline game? Yeah sure why not.

Basically in a nutshell without any punctuation this game has you flying around in a ship among hundreds of other ships battling each other inside a large station where you can buy a huge amount of upgrades and then whenever you're ready to progress further you go to the center sphere and go in arenas where you have to battle enemy ships in interesting and unique levels and whenever you complete all the arenas in that particular station you get to go to the next station that has higher tech levels and harder arenas and you basically continue this until you complete the last arena in the last station and honestly I don't really know what happens after that point I haven't gotten there yet

There's also a HUGE amount of depth to this game, such as each AI behaving differently in their own ways. The in-game help section does cover the basics, but there really is so much more to know after reading all that.

This game has been in development for 4 years, and has been available to play for a long time. After much positive feedback and improvements suggested by the community, the time has almost come for it to be officially released, which is why I made this in the first place. Technically, yes, this is in early access. However this is one of the best examples of early access games, the developer genuinely caring about his game, listening to the community, great updates. I have stayed with this game for years since it was on desura and I can wholeheartedly safely say that it has improved massively over the last few years.

Oh and have I mentioned that this was all made by one guy?

Games / Any Risk games with a large amount of players?

After playing a bit of some of the games I'll list, I was wondering if there were more. Preferably against ai, but you can still list some multiplayer only ones too if you'd like.


Dicewars!
This one's a classic and simple to play, up to 7 other opponents and a procedurally generated map and fast-paced action make this a fun one to play if you've got a few minutes.

The Great War of Prefectures!
This one's set in Japan where every 47 territories are originally controlled by an individual faction, so on the first few turns many of them fall. This one's a bit more different than Risk. This also has a bit of real time strategy as well, as you can sorta control your guys in the battles. Every individual territory has bonuses, for example one that generates a certain troop after a turn. You can buy different types of troops and powers in battles and oh man, this is really worth a look at. [spoiler]After you "win" some new islands pop up with a whole new boss faction you have to take down, good luck with that.[/spoiler]

Rise of Nations's Conquer the world mode!
This one you have to pay money for the game itself and pay all your time for since the main game of RoN is a 4X RTS similar to AoE but with more eras going into modern times. I haven't tried it out at all yet because I don't have the patience for that kinda thing, but I did watch some videos on it. Besides the in-game battles this is pretty much what I'm looking for and why I mentioned it. It's also historically accurate of where every nation starts out, but of course not so much of how it ends up. Also you can play as the Americans in ancient times.

Help / Launcher creates and deletes blockland.exe?

So for some strange reason my launcher just tries to load a few things, open blockland.exe, creates it, then deletes it and closes with the console coming up for a split second. I even tried using the official clean demo while making back-ups of both the documents and program files folder but it happens there too. The console.log doesn't get a chance to save but the launcher.log does. Not sure if whatever's in here is useful for this situation but just in case:

I haven't made one of these in a while so why not again.
If you had the ability to make your dream videogame(s) without having to worry about effort, copyright, or any limitations, what would you do?

I recently came up with an idea after playing a bit more of twisted-metal kinda car shooting games like gas guzzlers extreme and looking at this map I found on google images

(some route 66 travel map with other routes)

I was thinking it would be awesome if there were a multi-stage race between all these points while having 200+ vehicles all going at the same time ranging from buses to atvs to muscle cars to motorcycles to many other unique things while they shoot eachother with many many different kinds of weaponry.

But of course I would remove some of the points since some are too close together. And you may be thinking "200+ vehicles at once??? That's insane!!" well you're most definitely right, but I was thinking once someone is out, they're out for the whole thing. So by the last one there might only be a few left. And each stage would be moderately long (not as long as the actual route of course but maybe 5-10 minutes each) and between each stage you'd have a chance to upgrade and repair and fuel your vehicle and buy new weapons that get increasingly more deadly. Everyone starts out with standard car-mounted machine guns.

And then I'd make an alternate mode where everyone's fully upgraded and had unlimited fuel and other necessary stuff at the start, and no stops. It would obviously take a long time to complete but it would be interesting. I think the main problem with this though is that eventually everyone will be too spaced out from everyone else to do anything, so the other main mode would probably be more fun in general.

Suggestions & Requests / StaticShape Bedroom Sunroof

so I'm planning to do something with the static shape bedroom, but it always bugged me that if you had shadows on it would just appear out of a tiny area, and it's especially annoying if something that happens to be big blocks most of the window light from everything else

so I thought, "hey, maybe a sunroof could fix it"


it doesn't have to go across the whole top, it could just be half. but I'd prefer it be the whole thing. except the beams of course, I want them there for gameplay reasons. I don't really care all that much how the exterior looks. hell it could be a one-way sunroof for all I care. however if that interferes with the light going in than I guess do the outside too. also it should have the same texture as the window, but not breakable of course.

I know there's probably very very little out there but I was wondering if you guys knew of any? Executive Assault on steam has it in the Executron beta but that's the only one I know of.
I like the idea of just being a tiny soldier amidst all the chaos of ai commanders pitting war against each-other with multiple different units while getting resources and stuff

Games / List some good singleplayer vs bot games

Ya know while online games are fun and all, sometimes I like to "pretend" I'm in an online match but with ai instead, and no I'm not talking about campaigns or anything, I mean something that treats the ais like they're another player like me. These can be games that just have it based around it or as an option or feature, and not really as a simple training mode that only has very few options because those are boring. I also prefer if there were a good amount of customization in the match you can play, as it's another reason I like playing with ai.

Some games that come to mind are:
  • TF2 (kinda)
  • CoD Black Ops 1 and 2 (combat training)
  • Section 8: Prejudice (even though the official multiplayer doesn't exist anymore there's still bot matches and you can earn most of the unlocks purely in singleplayer)
  • Battlefield 2 and 2142 (although the vanilla game only comes with 16p sized maps and has 15 bots, there are mods that unlock the full maps and allow you to put in more bots)
  • NeonXSZ (6DOF where the whole game is based around ai acting as human players which is superb, seriously if you're looking at this looking for something like an mmo but not, get it)
  • Multiwinia as well as most RTS games (multiwinia is a non-complicated RTS set in the world of Darwinia, also has power-ups in crates, and because of those the game is chaotic as hell)
  • Unreal Tournament 2004 (not sure about the other ones because I just have this one, but they did very well with bots. On the highest difficulty they will kick your ass if you didn't play it enough)
You get the point. Idc what genre or perspective it is, but if it has bots that get treated like players, go ahead and name 'em.

Modification Help / Any way to make this item randomizer not lag?

ok so long story short I needed an addon event that someone made for me that could randomize a weapon w/ a blacklist and give it to the player, problem is it lags for like a second or two unlike addrandomitem(in event_setrandom if you don't know) no matter how many things on the blacklist I put on there, and with many people using this it's very noticeable and annoying.
I dunno much of what I'm looking at so by any chance is there a way to make it more efficient?

I don't know all the details, plus I'd rather not try to use google for correction because mobile and busy, but she's really excited. Because iirc it's bigger than it should be, and it's preventing her from losing weight no matter how hard she tries, plus it's making it difficult for her to sleep. As a replacement she'll just have to take a pill every day.

She's going to stay there overnight, and of course I'll update when things happen.

so I had this 24 hours ago but I just now remembered it well so

It starts me out with me in the sims 3, and I'm apparently a teen out of a family. Like actually the teen, first person perspective and everything. So it's time for me to go to the school and for some reason it's a long and treacherous journey with snow involved, but I got there. It's a huge school that ofc I've never seen before. I go inside and I realize that I have no idea where I'm going or what classes I take, then I realize "oh wait, I just have to go in the menu and click 'schedule.'" Before I get to my class, I see like a tiny school store or something. I go up to it and I talk to this one guy who was probably a teacher, and then a loving tsunami happens. Destructible environments are a thing and some of the walls go away. It's not flooding too much but just enough to go to the top of your feet. It stops at some point and I try to find my wallet because I guess I lost it in the tsunami, and there's like 5 of them in one place, I pick up and drop them until I find mine that actually does have my face on it, and the day continued like normal. Unfortunately I missed the class and I wasn't allowed to go in the class once I was late, so I just explore the partially destroyed 3-story school. Eventually the school day ends and I go meet like all my irl friends in the bus area, and I realize, "wait my mom's picking me up." My friends are talking to eatchother a ton while I try to jump in and say where's the car area, it takes a minute but finally one of my 'secondary' friends tells me and I go over there and for some reason it's located in a wide alley with skateboarders. When I get out of the door, my brain remembers "oh hey that's right this is the sims 3" and plays this sound. Neat way to end it off if you ask me.

The End.

But wait I have more from like years ago that I still remember!

So I was going back to an old elementary school that was big, and I go into a classroom and play gran turismo 4, although in my head it was like gran turismo 5 because that didn't come out yet, it was like a slightly newer tech that detected where your eyes were looking. So if I was looking at the minimap, it would get so big that it got in the way. Also I was playing on high speed ring because that's an iconic map from there.

This was an interesting dream I had a few weeks ago:

It was a dark and stormy night... (in my dream, not irl) I woke up (once again, in my dream) to me and my friends sitting at our lunch table at our school, with all the other students there. But something wasn't right.

We were all wearing orange shirts.
We were in a prison.
(I suppose you could say it's late night detention or something)

I freaked out for a split second.
I didn't yell or anything, my heart just jumped.

I then noticed the "guards" were the teachers, blocking the hallways.

Later on, I noticed that one of the teachers guarding the main exit was gone.
(pro security right here folks)

I don't know how, but I somehow managed to sneak past everyone to get to the main exit.

I sighed a sigh of relief.
(I forgot to mention, there were school buses outside)

When I noticed the school buses, I quickly paniced and somehow, no one noticed me AGAIN when I walked around the side of the building.

I then noticed that some of the students were following me.
I freaked out again, cause I realized that it would make it much easier for me to get caught.

I quickly began to take off my orange shirt.
There was another one under it.
There was another one under that one too.
Then it was my T-shirt.

I tried taking off a tag that I only noticed was there till now, but couldn't get it off.
This tag marked me as a criminal.

When about 3 of the students were outside, a guard spotted them, and me.
(I also forgot to mention, my irl school isn't on a hill, but this one is.)

I quickly, faster than I ever ran before, down the hill, with rain in my face and the wind blowing past my ears.

Of course, the other students were following me, along with the guards.

I somehow manage to get to my house without getting caught.

I got out my key from my pocket, and quickly got in the door.

Nobody was home, not even my pets.
I didn't seem to care, though.

I quickly ran upstairs, to my bedroom, and jumped on the bed.

The moment I touched it I woke up by my alarm.
