So I'm going to buy parts for a new PC soon. I've tentatively (as in, by the time I have the money this probably won't be what I've decided on lol) decided on these parts.
AMD Phenom II X6 Black Edition ProcessorCooler Master Hyper 212+ CPU Cooler (I'm going to overclock a little so I got this to be safe)
MSI 890FXA-GD70 MotherboardG.SKILL Ripjaw Series 2x4GB DDR3 RAMRadeon 6870 Graphics Card (Not sure about this but it looks good for the price)
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB (The difference in price between a 1TB and something like a 500GB is so small there's no reason not to get 1TB)
USB Add-on Card (Hey, it's $10 and USB is cool, why not)
Corsair 600T CaseCorsair AX850 850W Power Supply (I don't need 850W now, but eventually I might and this way I won't need to buy a new PSU)
Now I think all of this together is like $1154, which I'm
very happy with, but I'm being stopid and want to spend too much on the monitor:
Acer 32" Monitor. It's not the highest quality, but it's 32". Oh my god that would be great. Unfortunately it's more than I'd like to spend on a monitor...
As for keyboard:
Logitech K800 Wireless Slim is what I've settled on. Mouse I'm not really sure, but for now I've chosen
Logitech M305 Wireless.
On NewEgg I'll get $45 off in mail-in rebates.
I'm going to be doing a lot of work in Photoshop and similar programs, so the six-core processor will help there (Photoshop can take advantage of lots of cores, unless I have been misinformed). 8GB of RAM might not be totally necessary but it's not super expensive so what the hell. If anyone knows of any monitors I might like that are cheaper than $350 then please, PLEASE tell me lol. I don't want to spend that much on a monitor but 32" would be amazing to use. I'll probably watch movies and things from across the room so that'd be nice. Also if anyone can suggest a nice wireless mouse, preferably Logitech so I can use 1 USB dongle for keyboard and mouse.
Ways I might try and save money:
Buy a smaller PSU, I don't need 850W and who knows who long it'll be before I do (though it's worth saying the corsair case/psu are a combo deal, you get $30 off so I'm already saving a little)
Buy a cheaper monitor
Buy a cheaper keyboard/mouse
Buy the motherboard open box
Those 4 ways could potentially save me quite a bit of money. What do you guys think?
