wait don't we have some right to overthrow the government if it's stuff or am i stupid

if its stupid then there will be multiple lawsuits by large companies filed against the government and the bill would eventually be declared unconstitutional.

This isn't about lawsuits.  The companies would be able to shut down connections to the sites, no lawsuits or anything.  I was simply giving an example of a ridiculous copyright lawsuit to demonstrate what could be shut down.

bahaha of course there's a process prior to getting a site blocked, they can't just block things on a whim because they claim it violates copyrights. theyd have to prove it.

now will you all PLEASE stop being alarmist handicaps.

That's what it could do, the bill would give the copyright owners control over this stuff though.  Remember the whole Scrolls lawsuit?  Do you trust these people to decide what should be on the internet and what shouldn't be?

the companies don't get to decide what happens in a lawsuit, george washington. the courts do.
