When someone calls in the EMTs, the firetruck and the ambulance comes. If its a medical emergency, the fire truck comes to help life or provide muscle. If its a fire emergency, the ambulance is in case its a medical emergency. The police don't come, they appear out.of nowhere and give everyone tickets.I knew that...
If this is only a broken bone, a fall for example, the Fire Dept. would not respond unless they happen to be in the area. During a fall or stroke, and ambulance a police officer will always respond. The ambulance to provide medical attention and the police officer to write up a report.Yea, I also think it was a bad fall, a small fire, or cant get out of something.
The only circumstance the Fire Dept. will show up is if theirs a fire, explosion, some kind of damage, or if the victim is trapped in or under something. In that case the Fire Dept. will handle the situation, provide first aid service, and pass the victim on to the medics.
In this case I assume their was a small fire and your neighbor was injured in some way.

Ok, so while I was roaming around the forums, I heard my dad say "we have a fire truck". The neighbour was 86 years old. I went to the kitchen and saw the fire truck. I wondered what went wrong. So, I went back downstairs and kept roaming around. I then went to my door and saw an ambulance. What could've happened there? She broke a bone? She died? She had a fire? I want to know.
