General Discussion / A few answers of mine to the new update

Before you read this check out this thead then read the rest. If you have already then keep reading.
Alright as we know from the Development section, Kompressor has mentioned that we will be getting an update which will give Blockland a huge graphic update while sacrificing interiors and terrains which make up our maps.
It seems there has been alot of arguements about this update and I have a few answers of mine I'd like to share, so please don't flame me about any of these, I don't know too much about mapping, just about what the update does. Here goes.
No not our beloved maps! I love them don't get rid of them!
I too like most people will be kinda sad to see our beloved Bedroom, Slopes, Kitchen and others gone after the update, but you guys shouldn't get so mad over this. For a while we will have to build our maps out of bricks, which is not too bad if you ask me. People have made Terrain Builds and they can still give you the ability to make huge islands or mountains, for lazy people to to find a terrain generator.
Now for the people who want to see Bedroom again with the graphics don't freak out just yet, there is hope. After the update people who loved terrain will be looking for new ways to make maps again so if you have any plans for making a map, just save it for later or make a terrain build.
Getting rid of interiors and terrain is a bad thing because (Insert reason here)
From what I have seen and experienced in the game itself I would say this is a great update and a few reason why.
1. Vehicle collision will be alot better than before.
2. Updates will be able to roll in faster.
3. Events, explosions, and Physics will be working at a much more powerful rate.
4. The game will look alot better than before.
5. We can hopefully see some new types of addons and other things spawning from this.
6. Faster rendering.
I have nostalgia about old maps. What do?
Im pretty sure alot of Blockheads out there have the same thing, but sadly we have to move on. Theres no way to stop the update from happening and although some arguements do have good and bad reason about it nothing is gonna change kompressor's mind. You guys have had your fun with the old maps, Im sure you will all treasure them forever and they will not be forgotten. This does bring sort of age to the community however. When the maps are gone they will be nothing but a memory, but when new blockheads appear and ask about the old maps we will be able to tell them what it was like back in the old days. Yup, looks like we get to be old men discussing odd stories from the old days.
This update is good because Blockland is for BUILDING!

These are the answers I could come up with today with only 3 hours of sleep so bare with me if anything sounds odd and if I missed soemthing I'll try to answer it.

Personal Opinions: I've seen a lot of people talking about building being the "true mechanic" and goal of blockland. The true "mechanic" of blockland is not building>all, it's to be creative and importantly, have FUN!!! That is why there were more than just bricks in the game. Spear platform TDMS and jeep sumos are other ways to have fun without having to sit around "building in a building game where you should only be building only because it's blockland and block only, not a game for fighting."

Off Topic / Frostbyte's hockey league has a new stupid rule

Well apparently today my dad woke me up and asked me what I would feel like if ice hockey had no contact in it. I told him it wouldn't be as fun nor would it be like ice hockey and asked him why. He said that next year theres this new rule that says theres no hitting allowed in ice hockey and quite frankly it's loving stupid.
Now if you've ever seen ice hockey on tv you'll probably know that hitting is allowed and it's part of the game, it's like saying you can kill people in a video game and they don't give you guns or any other weapons. (Anyone got a better metaphor?)

So apparently after 3 years of no snow on the Canadian West Coast (Eh?) it decided to bring forgetload of snow and theres supposed to be a snowstorm on Wednesday.
I'm already beginning to see power outages (my friend got hit about an hour ago) and he was really close by so our power might go out :c
On the plus side: SNOW :D

Off Topic / Google Chrome and choppy videos?

Latley Google Chrome has been acting odd with videos (Youtube or other) first the video will play normally then every so often the video will freeze but keep going and skip 2 seconds.
This is getting really annoying and I'd really like to find a fix if anyone has one.
My connection is not slow.
I uninstalled any programs that might interfere.
I cleared out my cache.

Help / My jets stop working

Recently I tried playing BL a few times and I notice that everytime I spawn my jets will work for a few seconds then I will go into a No-Jet player.
Any idea for a fix? I think it may be the update.

Suggestions & Requests / Colour Correction

If you have played LittleBigPlanet then you may know what i am talking about but for those who don't heres what it is:
Say you wanted to make a horror server and wanted to make everything black and white but not just the bricks the whole environment in monochrome or an old west film in sepia. There could also be some colours for brightly lit coves and beaches or some bright reds, greens and blues for some other interesting affects.
What I think it should have:
-Monochrome and Sepia options.
-Multiple colours.
-Darker and brighter colours.
-An option to make your selection brighter or darker (Ex: a dark, monochrome world)
Don't know if it's possible for the engine but it would be pretty neat and would make builds have alot more atmosphere.

Games / Suggest me some Xbox Exclusives

I got my Xbox 360 a while agoand I only have Halo Reach and Gears of War 3 for it and I'd really love to expand my game library. Games / Stupid Game server rules and hosts.

If you've ever played a game on PC or a server with admin rights then theres a chance that you may have run into some stupid rues or admins.
Just recently me and my buddy were kicked from a DoD game just for walking around. We came back later and everyone was forced to use the Rocket class which has: Rocket Launcher, Rifle, Knife. My buddy decided to snipe people with the rifle and some starfish brit went on the mic and yelled; NO USING THE BLOODY SECONDARIES! and my buddy was banned.
The clan's server was -|WaD|- and I can see why they are called that, they are all a bunch of admin abusing stuffwads.
Post your experiences.
