I only think it's standing up for yourself when someone tries to physically harm you or stand up to a bully not just being called a poop face by someone in your school.
I'd just laugh it off and walk away if someone called me something, besides it's probably overused insults anyways.

I actually love how they made Equestria so mysterious, they didn't just keep it as some place where ponies live they keep telling us and hiding the secrets and locations in Equestria, it's almost as if it could be a real place or something you would find in an RPG game.
