hearing people eat
it makes me MAD
people eating with their mouth open doesn't really bother me as long as it doesn't make a sound
but ugh when people smacking their lips and stuff

Simple: post relatively benign things that for some reason make you really want to punch a baby. I'm going to start off with some typographical ones:

- Capitalizing Every Word Outside Of Titles - it requires so much effort and there is literally no good reason to do it.
- Using `graves for left quotes' - this tends to be common in monospaced situations, for some reason.
- Using a space before exclamation/question marks ! Apparently this is the standard in French and older Indian-English textbooks, but it annoys the stuff out of me. Side note on spacing: end sentences with one space, although two spaces doesn't really bother me much.

ok so let me clarify something
if something is procedurally generated, you really can't sell based on scale because it's by definition infinite
which almost always results in quantity (number of places) over quality (how interesting each place is)

it's why minecraft custom maps are usually way cooler than the terrain of vanilla, despite the fact that vanilla minecraft has MASSIVE scale (about that of neptune)

so in order for this to really stand up to hype they need to have put a lot of effort into making the procedural generation make unique stuff, and they can't keep waving around the word "scale" or "infinite" because it's meaningless; there are an infinite number of ways a potato chip can be shaped, but they're all boring. maybe if they were to procedurally generate the procedural generator? (the parameters adjust themselves using themselves)

I am a vehement supporter of the use of Lanchester's Square Law as the mechanism that governs ship to ship combat. One small ship should not have a chance in hell against a big ship, however, a dozen, or dozens of small ships who's combat power increases exponentially should be able to overpower one.

In terms of armament of the Boreslaw, I'm sure I could cook up some replacements for the missile batteries once someone explains how cannons work now. It sounds like they are automatically punch-through now.
using that law, if you were fighting 12 small ships your ship would need to be 144 times larger
idk about that sir

at the end of the article it says people often use a 1.5 exponent, which would put the ship size at about 40x larger

I think I like this game a lot more in theory than I actually will in practice
same, but i'm really excited nonetheless
especially since it was confirmed (for sure) during E3 that it's NOT a timed exclusive
aka it'll come out on PC at the same time as it does on PS4
